Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Yeah the video was pretty good and the series actually is very creepy. But as you said the details really ruin it and it becomes another "The Monsters are the real victims" story that made FNAF not as scary. Like so much of this series would be way scarier if no mysteries were ever explained.
Yeah, I actually think a lot of these designs are actually scary, and shit. The series has that uncanny valley look down perfectly, and some of the faces they make like in Shaw's training video, and when you see what happened to Susan are actually really unnerving. Not to mention that Jack is just always looks absolutely fucking terrifying no matter how they draw him.

Unfortunately, this leads to my other big issue with the series. The designs look too creepy for what they're supposed to be. The animatronics were supposed to be made to appeal to children, but they look like something straight out of a horror movie. At least FNAF, the animatronics straddle that line between creepy and just ugly-cute pretty well, so there's enough room to say that they actual were meant for kids, and only look scary because they're currently in the dark. Here, they just look like that was never the case, and that were always intended to be monstrous which works entirely against their original design purpose.

All and all, I think if they just dialed back the creepiness of the machines, and cut out all the extra details, this would be a much more successful story.

I think the designs as is could work if the restaurant was a failed business because of how creepy they are or someone tampered with the designs to make them more creepy. This could work if they show how the restaurant normally is so that way the horror can pop out more when the animatronics have been fucked with.

Honestly the details that portray the monsters as victims are a deal breaker because it makes it not as scary and the plot to this series strangely feels like a ripoff of Texas Chainsaw 3D (With the Cannibal family and Leatherface being the real victims, main character being a relative of that family but with no recollection of them, and the real villain being some corrupt person with power).

It seems like it's more important to quiet things down than serve actual justice in places like Japan. And places outside the US in general, if Canada is anything to go by.

And poor Junko... The bastard offered to let the police search the place and the cops decided that meant he was innocent and fucked off. There's so many cases where the victim has a chance to be saved but just aren't for whatever reason. Junko's was one of the most infuriating to me.
Say what you will about Americans but they sure do know how to chimp out enough to bring attention and potential action to a specific issue, I have a feeling Derek Chauvin would've gotten a much lighter sentence (or any sentence at all) if the protests didn't happen. In countries like Japan and Canada they seem to care more about MUH REPUTATION and going with the flow, because having a different opinion to the mainstream politics is the most offensive of crimes. Not that I've been to any of those countries, it's just my observation as an internet neckbeard.

There's so much creepy weird stuff happening in reality that I don't really bother following ARG's anymore. I remember the earliest days of Elsagate, there was some seriously disturbing content doing the rounds before the phenomena caught on and youtube started cracking down. That made me feel unclean and really got under my skin. It takes a lot for fiction or ARG's to make that kind of impression on me. I still get a nostalgic kick out of marble hornets and thought Night Minds analysis of House of Leaves was exceptional.

I mostly listen to Dead Rabbit Radio now, Shrouded Hand is good, Nick Crowley makes some interesting content and I discovered a channel talking about that creepy Piper Bynes called Internet Investigator.

New Nexpo drop... and it's not another ARG.
I thought this was ok. The uncanniness of certain elements did make me uncomfortable at points (i.e. usage of real faces but disfigured), but other than that it's a topic that's been done to death, regardless of if this one has a more coherent plotline than FNAF did.

Makes me think how I wished that FNAF had just.... "creepy animatronics that kill people". No spirits or nonsense. Just evil machines.
Of course that was wishful thinking and it apparently always will be for things in this sort of genre. I don't care for the whole 'monsters are really the victims' trope and never will. It feels boring.

The name coffee house crime alone reminds me of tea spill. Theres been a couple of channels coming up on my recommended that just stink of corporate produced content and I'm not enjoying it.
There's one channel that comes off as extremely mass produced and that's "anna solves". It's like an Eastern European content farm branched out from those 5 minute craft instagram videos to true crime.

This was such a fucking slog. I heard about TWF a while back and I thought it was literally just a FNAF fan comic or something. Not worth an hour and a half video of Nexpo going "WAIT... WHAT WAS THAT? GO BACK." repeatedly about a series that's literally just "What if FNAF, but also Petscop???" The visuals are decent but the story is so bland and predictable. Also the creator strikes me as a potential pedo.

petscop was 100% better than this in every way.
Anyways- i knowthe creator's youtube avatar gives me red flags for some reason. I usually see that artstyle associated with questionable people.

Yeah he's got that typical ugly Tumblr toon style that SJWs like. He also does nothing on Twitter but retweet fanart of himself by what are most likely 99% little girls.

oh lord. Haven't really looked too much into his twitter but if i remember correctly the main guy was like... based on himself photo wise and then awkwardly photoshopped over various things.

... does this guy even give credit for any resources he used in the video? I can't fully remember.

Honeslty the most annoying bit is when Nexpo does that dumb laugh when he finds a potential hole. His laugh is one of the most annoying laughs in the world.

On another note, i watched his video on Local58 and had to just go watch it myself instead bc i wasn't too interested in his commentary.
Local58 was pretty weird, but I couldn't quite grasp what was going on with it fully.

It's a miniseries about evil coming from the moon, presented in the style of a public broadcasting channel.

Something evil on the Moon is staging a takeover of Earth. Local58 has been gradually compromised by evil Moon influence and has been releasing increasingly disruptive media to weaken and eventually subdue its viewers to the Moon's will, but an intern seems to have built a tolerance to it and has been trying to warn and protect its viewers (shutting off Contingency, airing the cartoon about the Moon, Station ID) until he finally cracks in the Weather Service video. A Look Back hints that perhaps this evil in the Moon arose due to our discovery and manipulation of electromagnetic waves, since it claims "we send signals through their domain" and thus began using it against ourselves.

The only one that doesn't seem to fit this theory is the very first video, You Are On The Fastest Available Route. Perhaps Moon influence mutates certain people into monsters, or it isn't the Moon by itself but its monstruous inhabitants instead, and they've already landed on Earth and are waiting until the populous is vulnerable enough to begin their attack? It's a much more tangible video compared to the rest, because it deals with an actual physical evil presence instead of just psychological stuff.

WTF they watched this monster mutilate this mans body for 4 HOURS!! What the hell were the police doing!? Chilling around the bus sipping some tea as this sicko taunt the passengers with the decapitated head and eat parts of his body.

Poor man had his body toyed with and all they did was watch, what a joke.
"But it's totes better than that America and it's police brutality" cries the liberal
I think it's a lot creepier than FNAF ever was, but that's not saying much. I liked the video as an overall summary of the series, but the actual plot of it is cliche, and shit. I think people keep adding too many details to these things when they'd be a lot scarier without them.
I do enjoy the walton files, but God the "oOoOh haunted arcade machine" thing is just fucking killing it for me. And the fact that JackBon somehow decided brutally massacring his wife by ripping her limb from limb was the best decision instead of going after that bastard coward Felix. tbh as far as FNAF VHS clones go I enjoyed Harmony and Horror much better, despite the fact it went with "Dad was probably a psychopath from the start".

I honestly thank you for this explanation because this pretty much cleared up suspicions i had
Fastest available route seems the most out of place but I genuinely think that the moon's influence could have created a warped / mutated person given the manipulative motifs of the series.

I may have to watch that then.
ngl as expected the fanbase developing for walton files is trash but i guess it's inevitable when the creator's art looks on par with sjw trash.
idk man

Most ARG fandoms are cancer, it's just the nature of the beast. Mainly because most ARG's are garbage tier and follow the exact same formula that tumblr autists eat up: shitty art that they can use as 'aesthetics' or create OC's based off of, a 'deep' hidden message (like how HIMM's end message was uwu wuv youwself and Daisy Brown being a story about abuse/TAXIC relationships) and finally the pretense that these ARG's are intricate 5D chess puzzle mysteries so these people can pretend they're Sherlock and think they're smart lol.
