What’s going to happen with lesbians is the ones who had a stupid haircut and a stupid name will get a sensible professional pixie cut and go back to being Hannah or Lauren and laugh about it with their friends. The ones who had top surgery but didn’t take T will maybe write some sad articles about how they wish they could breastfeed but can’t. Actually doing the full nine yards of transitioning is the minority, and they’re not going to get a lot of sympathy.

I kind of feel like that the reason we seem to give a pass to non-insane FtMs is because we are having a harder time accepting that female with masculine characteristics (due to exogenous hormones) are truly women. It's something I see even in TERF spaces, and there's a reason why in fantasy media a female counterparts of ogres and ugly beings are made into sexy bikini girls instead of something fitting to male counterparts. (The Smufette Principle, as much as I hate TVTropes). There's something about our culture that we put down ugly women much mre than ugly men. And it's also a reason why ex-FtM detransitioners have a bad time too.

I get called he/sir by strangers and service workers all the time and I just laugh it off or play along. I'm a tall butch lesbian with a deep voice so I understand why people might mistake me for a dude. All these genderspecials seem to be solipsists with the corresponding lack of any self awareness whatsoever. If they proclaim they are something to their dumb social media echo chamber, it must be true, no matter how the rest of the world perceives them.
