Scorsese gets a bad rap from the Efap but I understand where he is coming from. Before Iron Man and the MCU, there was a period of time from 2000 to 2008 where comic book movies were miss than hit. After X Men all the comic properties got swooped up but for every Spiderman 2 or X2 you got a Fantastic 4 or DareDevil (2003). In fact it seemed like only the Nolan Batman films were the only truly good ones. It was seen by Hollywood as a fad that audiences would get bored of. In fact in 2007 Spiderman 3 almost put the nail in the coffin. Then Iron Man hit in 2008 and it all changed. In fact many thought the whole MCU experiment would fail.

Reason people love MCU is that it is consistent quality. It might be good/okay but thats better than seeing the Zack Snyder film that sounds like Transformers that leaves you pissed off.
Scorsese probably got asked some stupid question like would you ever make a Marvel movie ?
Maybe Scorsese is pissed off because he doesn't have the freedom he had in the 70s/90s but there was a period of time where he was seen as passed it/over the hill etc. Goodfellas changed that forever.

Meh, The quality is over remembered. Ultron is a slog. There's one good Iron Man movie.

I'll take something hilariously awful like Batman and Robin before I take another formula Marvel film with contempt for the source material like Ant-man and Wasp or Ragnorak. Hell, at this point give me Fantastic Four or Daredevil over an abomination like Captain Marvel.

It always amuses me people trash those films for disrespecting source material (they did) while Marvel does it right (they don't). At least those bad movies have respectful moments.

Captain Marvel respected nothing. It erased the original Captain Marvel entirely. Ant-man even more so, retconning his role as a founding superhero. Ragnorak destroyed Asgard and completely retconned Hela's whole origin before the Asgardians got killed off screen. Meanwhile, Ben grim in the FF movie looked like Ben Grim. He went to a bar. He had Ben's personality and origin. Reed was an oblivious genius and Sue was a kind, long suffering woman. Johnny was a cunt with a heart of gold. Did Tom Rothman fuck it up? Yes.

Ultron has its moments (basically everything with Vision and maybe a bit of Wanda and Hawkeye's relationship) but we really didn't need a quipping robot for a bad guy. If he ever comes back I'd prefer they go in the opposite direction with him.

Just rewatched Captain Marvel. If you look at it as her thinking she is a Kree, her actions on Earth make sense as part of her character. In her minds, its a inferior planet she is on. Doesnt make it right but understandable.
Her acting as well. She seems smug because she is in a Kree policeman on a less developed planet. She doesn't give a shit about it at all. She was instructed to stay put. It is only when she investigated that she found out she was actually human.

BW EFAP is back up, for those interested in the Scorsese, capeshit, and Rags Joker>Taxi Driver take, go to roughly 6:08:00.

For highlights, Mauler calls Scorsese pretentious, Rags calls Taxi Driver overrated, and Mauler hates that Scorsese said that the MCU can't be auteur movies, even though Martin is mostly right about that, fuck sake Mauler you think Eternals is the brain child of some edgy indie director? I mean aside from Guardians and one or two other movies, most of the MCU movies cold have been directed by the same person and most people wouldn't have known.

Another thing I noticed is it's mostly Mauler Rags and Fringy talking, Metal and the other guest are staying very quiet while these three delve deeper up their own assess with their takes about Scorsese, it's weird that they get this mad at Scorsese, I mean they even say that they shit on the MCU but that Scorsese had a "bad take". it comes off a little as them saying they have the better take, and now more than ever makes me question their cinema exposure and taste.

It is really that weird? they invented their whole objectivity system just so they can say everyone but them is wrong.
Also is not really that weird considering a big part of the podcast is authisitically shitting on other youtubers who disagree with them.
But the auteur part is the funniest....
do they not know marvel is famous for firing directors when their vision doesnt align with marvel?

Guys, instead of listening to these retards you should watch this fantastic documentary about the wonders of American cinema directed and narrated by Scorsese. It's 4 hours long masterclass, way better than an eleven-hour podcast made by a bunch of inbred morons.

Scorsese does in 4 hours what Mauler can't in 12.

Found it split into three parts archive.org for anyone interested.

Mauler is on FNT and the topic of Batman TAS and Southpaw came out, you can tell Mauler is trying to be as diplomatic as possible. (I was watching it live but it should somewhere post the 3:30:00 mark)
EDIT: Oh also it seems Jay picked a fight with Hassan because he also streamed his video without crediting him.

At around 3:37:00 Mauler says that SP has managed to convince people that the episode "Heart of Ice" is a bad episode... look I get that sometimes things get overhyped and over glorified as time goes on, but then there are things that are held up as a standard for a reason, and that episode is considered one of the best pieces of superhero media for a reason. And yes Mauler was being diplomatic, but I get the feeling that he would have wanted SP there, cause it felt like he was a little uncomfortable trying to answer SP's shitty hot takes.

I know The Farms generally looks down on reaction images, but fuck it.

Look Southpaw, you’re free to think whatever, and being a contrarian is otherwise… fine, just look at Armond White.
But this added with your track record just makes you look like an ass. And your contrarianism should at least be supported with more than just, “Thermos of soup Macguffin!”

You know, if he's autistic enough to think a thermos of soup writes off one of the best episodes of that show, then he is absolutely going to bitch and moan about how the knife in the Joker's shoe ruins the Dark Knight. I'd be fascinated if he goes that far and to see how Mauler will try spinning that.

I’m pretty sure most people on EFAP think that Southpaw’s take is shit but don’t call him out on it to avoid him throwing a tantrum.

I believe his SM 2 take was to some extent genuine as flawed as it was. but this BTAS thing is just him being contrarian. He’s also very blatantly getting details wrong. For example the whole “Batman cures blindness” crap he’s going on about. In the context of the episode the machine is shown to be a highly experimental prototype that can only let the person see in infrared and also ends up malfunctioning partway into the episode constantly alternating between on and off.

It has been going for a while, just another Loki circlejerk.
Nothing out of the ordinary that I can see, Shadiversity really hates new He-Man
