Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

If Palin had any political acumen, she would have declined the VP slot like countless others did.

She isn’t national election or even cabinet material. She had a good gig as a governor of a boring but stable state that had lots of valuable mineral resources; it was governing on easy mode. It’s like she thought playing high school softball meant she was ready for Major League Baseball.

She was just poorly prepared all around: a little of it was by the National GOP but the vast majority was on her where her ambitions far outweighed her competency. She never thought she had to learn much in the way of lessons; that’s why she fizzled out, even amongst teabaggers, by 2010.

My hope is that some black person confronts him for going back on his promises, and he explodes and starts asking why "This nigger is allowed to talk to me". It would fit -perfectly- with the era and location he grew up in.

There wouldn't be a memory hole deep enough for that. The anger clicks would be too tempting for the corporate media, they'd jump all over it. Twitter would lose their shit in an internal conflict over whether saying Nigger on national TV is better or worse than saying Grab 'em by the pussy in a private conversation, and whatever side the lefties pick, they'll be destroyed by other lefties. The internal Schism would be legendary, the Farms would be fertile for months, if not years, off the aftermath.

We all joked about last year when a single Nigger being dropped brought the nation to its knees, but I don't think we ever considered that it could be so literal.

Oh, it gets better. While it is a myth to look at some sort of single-minded Hispanic voting bloc it is true that they tend to view each other favorably. If the Administration fucks up hard enough, as it's currently on track to do, it will also damage the Hispanic vote outside of just Cuban-Americans.
