I don't think that Barb was ever the victim in any of this. I'm on the same page as you in thinking that Chris was getting manipulated by Barb like he always does. However, it would be incredibly reckless to assume that Barb is even all there mentally compared to years past. She's now almost the same age as when Bob died, she's a compulsive hoarder, and in years past, she'd gorge herself on junk food from Burger King and Sheetz. If her body wasn't so frail now, she'd probably be just as fat and bloated as she was back in like 2009/2010. Chris even mentioned that she had maggots in her ass at some point a few years ago.
