Man I've been doomscrolling this thread, 4chan, reddit, twitter, discord, etcetera for almost 24 hours now. I'm completely horrified but I also can't look away. It's dawned on me that this is probably going to be one of the biggest events of the 2020s for internet culture. This is the death of a zeitgeist. But also the beginning of a new saga. Chris isn't just going straight to jail/a mental institution. That's not how these kinds of things work. I'm pretty sure he'll still have access to the internet worst case scenario for another year. I remember thinking back during the Liquid Chris Saga that anything after that point, the blame should lie squarely on Barb's and Bob's shoulders.

At any point back when Chris was originally getting fucked with by the O.G trolls, Barb and Bob could have cut the internet down. They could have tried to educate themselves on the internet and Chris's situation, could have forced Chris into therapy, etc. At any point throughout the past decade back when Barb had her marbles or when Bob was alive, they could have made an effort to correct where this proverbial ship was drifting towards. Instead they just sat around and did fuck all.

Chris posts their house and details online? No repurcussions. Prostitutes sent to the house? Chris going on road trips to meet the CEO of Nintendo? Nothing. Constant phonecalls and harassment, years of Chris fucking up online, and nothing done by Barb or Bob. There's no way they didn't know the degenerate and stupid shit he was doing, they just turned a blind eye to it.

Even after Bob passed, Barb could have put her foot down on a multitude of things. If she had, I'm certain Chris would be a lot less of a headcase as he is now.

I can't say I'm surprised with Chris finally jumping into the deep end of the degeneracy pool... it was only a matter of time, and the signs have always been there. I think what's happened to Barb is horrible, but this is just as much her own fault as it is Chris's.
