I'm sure this has been asked in the 400 odd pages but why did everyone including the police take this super cereal from the guy who thinks the dimensional merge is real?

I know. I'm talking specifically about people following Chris. Though I also wouldn't be surprised if this stuff soured people to internet gossip in general. And Null obviously has personal stakes in this whole thing.

Of course he won’t. Or to be more specific, somewhere deep inside he knows it’s wrong, but his selfish/rapish nature makes him come up with excuses.

Chris has a small awareness of what people are supposed to say/act like.

(Note now he always emphasizes that he’s RESPECTFUL and EMPATHIC!)

In the leaked audio we likewise get the telling Chris-pause he always does when he lies when he points out that “She initiated it”.

Chris isn’t that smart and not that good with social cues, but he DOES know that it’s better “when the girl initiates”.

So to an extent I disagree. Chris knows this could get him in trouble and acts thereafter.

He may not understand exactly what the big deal is, but he knows he did something he shouldn’t have and lies about it.

For barb it will be better than her recent situation. Chris isn't able to take care of a demented elderly woman, even without incest raping his demented mom.

For Chris on the other hand it will be worse. If he won't be put in prison he will end up in some assisted living for retards. He will be expected to adopt certain rules and some kind of "therapy" with the aim to be self sufficient.
As you already pointed out, that won't happen. He will have a tantrum and will be kicked out and homeless from.that point on.

I'm not a Chris connoisseur but I've known of him for years. It seems like this was preventable if he had been kept off the Internet and given a social worker to check in.

Hopefully the woman is so demented she can't relive the abuse and best case scenario is Chris gets sent to an institution.

The lesson I've learned from all this is don't encourage creepy shit for luls.

I've been watching this shitshow off and on since I first started my computer yesterday, and I still have no fucking words. But the worst feeling about watching all of this unfold surprised me, which is a sad irony. It wasn't the disgust and cringe and revulsion that got to me.

What hit me was the hollow realization of just how unsurprised I was.

There are lot of moving parts to any criminal charges

One of the largest ones will be Barb and her mental capacity to consent to a rape kit and the hurdles the county / state have to jump if they don't think she can make decisions for herself.

Then there is the question of Chris and his ability to stand trial - It will take some convincing to a DA that Chris is fit for trial.

There is also the possibility that Chris technically could argue that he could not get a fair trial in Virginia.

Gut instinct is Barb gets carted away and has a Guardian appointed by the state for her, House gets sold, Chris lives life as if nothing has happened
