I wouldn't put it past what I've heard of Barb's abuse and manipulation to have molested her son/s and gaslit them about it, like it didn't happen, I'm a Christian, etc. Anytime the kids might act up because of the trauma of molestation, she could say to Bob its a misbehaving child telling crazy lies. I don't honestly think that Barb sexually molested Chris in any way, or it seems unlikely. I don't think Robert would have put up with that shit had he caught a whiff, I don't think that Chris could actually keep a secret and he 100% would have spilt the beans on that sort of thing years ago, and otherwise, I think he'd have a somewhat different reaction to sexual things if it was the case.

All throughout Chris's life, every single institution or authority he's come to be involved with has failed to reprimand him harshly enough to jar him from his waking dreams of fantasy or to improve his circumstances. The schools, the therapists, his parents, the legal system... The fact that he "cares" for Barb is testament to how oblivious, incompetent, or uncaring Virginia government really is.
I think it's safe to say that Chris should be institutionalized, for his own good and the good of others. But he also rolled a nat 20 for his luck stat when he was born. Every time Chris has been penalized, the punishment has been pretty minor. Like DSP, were are dealing with a teflon individual. (Of course, putting him into a mental healthcare facility is not a punishment, but Chris would likely view it as such, despite it being the best avenue for him.)
If he gets off easy this time, it will be even more damning than every other wrist-slap he's gotten before, that's true, but the fact that escape is even possible for Chris makes this all a hundred times more interesting.
