Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Interesting. My mom takes melatonin every night as a sleep aid, and while I'm absolutely positive she had to have caught it from my dad (sleeping in the same bed with a sick person, how could you not), she showed no symptoms aside from maybe a day's sore throat, which made her think she avoided it somehow. I know I caught it from my dad as well, but I also take melatonin somewhat frequently, and I was the same way. Sore throat for an evening, better by the next day. Despite this, I still wasn't able to convince her not to get the shots, her argument being "well I never had a test so I don't know for sure so better safe than sorry." Continuing to pray that nothing bad comes of the ADE fears, but hopefully her continued melatonin regimen will help.

Also your post about intubation killing more people than it's helping is making me think. I brought this up a couple months ago but never really finished the story, but my sister-in-law's father got the coof and had a severe reaction to it. He didn't go to the hospital for several days, and when he finally did, they put him on a ventilator almost immediately. His condition kept going up and down but he never recovered, and he passed away after about a month in the hospital.

The only blame that his family placed was on him for not getting jabbed, but I'm wondering if the treatment he got only made a bad situation worse. They admitted that they took him to a worse hospital because it was closer and he was in really rough shape, and apparently he was never in a good enough condition to take him to the better one in their area. He seemed relatively healthy, overweight but not landwhale status, but a nutrient deficiency isn't as easy to see as fat. Plus, he could easily have been eating worse over the past year, possibly getting a lot more takeout than normally.

The info you've dug up makes me think that the coof put extra pressure on a system that was already weakened, eventually leading to a point of no return. But I know it would be a fool's errand to try and discuss this with my sister-in-law, who refuses to believe that anything but the vaccine would have saved him, which isn't helped by all the doctors telling her likewise (and I'm no doctor so what do I know). Since the spike protein is the main pathogen, I can't help but wonder if injecting him with a big ol' dose of that wouldn't have had the same effect as the virus itself.

I dunno. There's so much more to this than the magic vaccines, but any research that isn't related to the shots is being quashed or hidden. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that countless lives that could have been saved are being sacrificed on the altar of Big Pharma.
To be honest, I think it's affecting the blood directly.

Published reports indicate that approximately 20% of COVID-19 patients tend to have severe or critical disease, with a mortality rate of 50% or more in critical cases 13-17. According to various reports, COVID-19 mortality has been predicted by factors such as decreased hemoglobin, elevated cytokines, D-dimer, cardiac and/or renal injury, leukocytosis, and elevation of neutrophil : lymphocyte ratio (NLR) 16, 17. One possible explanatory aspect for these factors contributing to severe COVID-19 cases is an inappropriately exaggerated immune response previously described as a “cytokine storm,” which results in the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) 18-20. Such an acute severe immunological response in similar viral infections is known to release a cascade of inflammatory mediators, including various interleukins, tumor necrosis factor (TNF α) and other chemokines. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), which is capable of signaling through both membrane-bound receptors (IL-6R) and soluble receptors, is one of the most important 21. The IL-6 pathway involves increased vascular permeability and immune cell recruitment through modulation of endothelial activation and dysfunction 21. Furthermore, infiltrating neutrophils, a hallmark of COVID-19, can release myeloperoxidase (MPO), which can activate several pathways that lead to elevated cytokines and production of ROS such as hypochlorous acid (HOCl), superoxide (O2•-), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) 22-24. Notably, HOCl can both compete with O2 at hemoglobin heme binding sites and also cause heme degradation and subsequent release of free iron (Fe2+). Free iron can then undergo the Fenton reaction to produce an array of ROS, including the highly reactive hydroxyl radical (•OH) 23-27. Another possible facet of the observed pathophysiology in critical cases of COVID-19 is a decline in nitric oxide (NO), a key mediator of vasodilation 28, 29. Vasodilation mediated by NO deficiency combined with the effect of excessive ROS on the structure and function of hemoglobin (Hb) could impact pulmonary and peripheral circulation, possibly eventually leading to critical or fatal hypoxia. Therefore, connection of these pathways establishes a multi-hit model that relates simultaneous activation of ROS-mediated mechanisms to key features of critically ill COVID-19 patients. Understanding these pathways will provide multiple clues to develop therapeutic strategies that will prevent severe morbidity and mortality related to COVID 19.

All that hypochlorous acid from sepsis and neutrophilia attacks heme directly, limiting the oxygen carrying capacity of hemoglobin. If that's what's happening here, then quite frankly, ventilators will do nothing. Shoving more O2 into blood that can't accept it is useless.

Good God we are back to "stock up on supplies, guys"!
This shit is coming full circle.

I want off this ride...
Considering the food supply chain is pretty much falling apart as we speak, not a bad idea. In fact perhaps think of it as an investment. lol Food prices won't get any cheaper for a while. It is always better to be more prepared than less.
I'm not saying its a bad idea, I'm just saying we are back to fear-porn.
The bullying will continue until morale is depleted

So the MN covid group was eating up a report that the hospitalizations are the most evah since June... 202 hospitalizations with 57 ICU patients and 151 non-ICU ones.

So how much is that out of active cases there? Well MN has has 612,701 cases of which 601,097 recovered and 7,668 died. That leaves an active covid case group of 3936.

So the all ages, all conditions percent hospitalized is 5.13%, with 1.45% of all cases in the ICU.

The younger and healthier you are in previous trends, the lower your share of the risk. Of course, this also just covers cases in the hospital now, so ones that never get detected or people who have covid but are in the ICU for like a car crash would throw off the numbers some.

Truly, the doom plague that will end us all.

The tone and sentiment here towards unvaccinated people is getting pretty ugly

Any local news article’s comments are a dumpster fire of “just let them die” “cancel their health insurance” “who cares” etc. keeping in mind that kids are technically part of this group since there are no vaccines for those under 12 (and how many parents will want their kids to take them after all this!) and other compromised people who can’t be vaccinated for whatever reason, it’s a huge change from last year when it was a huge deal to stay home and save one life. Just bonkers

Edited to add - I know that kids are at a very low risk of dying. Still the attitude just seems odd.
Yeah the rhetoric is genuinely alarming. It's a combination of absolutely vicious dehumanization of the "enemy" coupled with an absolute belief in their own moral righteousness and the righteousness of their cause. That never leads anywhere good.
Understood, but nowhere has anyone enforced masks where i live in Florida. Its always been voluntary and nobody says shit...at the Height of the pandemic last year 99% of people where doing it but you always had some angry boomer who wasnt but nobody called the cops or anything

I cant imagine anywhere in America somebody forcibly evicting or confronting me for not masking. Has this actually happened lol?
late and gay and etc but yes, routinely, lmao. At one point I had a woman chase me down the street. You have no idea how good you have it in Florida. Plenty of places around the country have the general population acting like pod people.

I'm tired of this cult-like veneration of Dr. Fauci the Cult of Woke have.

And I'm also tired of the CDC (and WHO) for carrying out this crime against humanity scamdemic.

Seems every crazy "recommendation" from the CDC recommends becomes law in businesses around here. "Oh we're doing [this insane bullshit] because the CDC recommended it."
You mean shit like the below? At what point does it become harder to deny reality than to critically think? Like these people do everything they’re told and yet the powers that be constantly screw them over and lie to them. At a certain point you’re no longer a victim when you know you’ve been lied to for long enough and choose not to believe it

Nothing's been written into law yet, but the writing is on the wall. Some businesses in my area have already started putting up signs saying "MASK REQUIRED. WE DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE VACCINATED OR NOT."

And unfortunately, one of the places that enforces it the most is where I'll probably end up working soon (don't want to powerlevel about why, and besides, it's not like any other business is going to stick up for me when shit hits the fan). (:_(

On the other hand, I bought some bandanas today, and I'll be putting them to good use as the mandates come back. Anything helps, really. We've got rough times ahead.

That video need some updates to mention the Fauci leaks emails.

that's some mega clown world crap right there

A bandana is much better than a muzzle.* It has more uses than a "face mask" and is easier to remove. It's best if it's washed frequently though. Also you can look like an old western outlaw instead of a germaphobic cult member.

*(even if they're supposedly less effective)

It took longer than expected, but people are coming around.

Eh, I'll take it.

I prefer a balaclava. When I had to work in Seattle, I loved to wear it into the supermarkets that had frequent shoplifting.

This shit is coming full circle.
Why haven't the "little people" risen up and voted out the elite tyrants who force this bullshit "New Normal" to grab more power?

Oh right, they've have brainwashed far too many, and the "little people" are too divided.

I hope this crazy circus really can end entirely someday.

Maintaining a stock of shelf-stable foods is a good idea regardless of the situation. Anyone who can afford to do it should do.

$100 can still get you 6 months worth of food. If you don't have that setup you are stupid. crazy boomer Prepper or not...a 6 month supply of food is not a bad thing.

I live in Florida so its a natural. I was a kid but the 2004 hurricane season was pretty rough. Without food supplies my father had in the garage we would of been looting stores. From August to October the Interstates were cut off from downed trees and flooding because of 4 back to back hurricanes over the same area. There was no food, no gas, no water and no power in huge swathes of area's.

Our power went out during Charlie south of Orlando like August 11th or something. We didn't get our power back on till almost fucking fall. sometime in october anyway

Really shitty year. Lots of small town action against out of area looters i wont get into that never made news...its to much and would need an hour to write up. But all of the above is an example of a situation which got outta hand quickly

Everyone takes the recommendations from the CDC as law. Fuck that.
