Yea it's pretty normal. I left k-12 schools 5-6 years ago and this type of interaction was typical. You would usually see it more in teachers that teach arts/theatre/music but if the curriculum isn't intense enough or if the teacher are cool enough then you can see it in other subjects as well. Im guessing this is 8th or 9th grade algebra. In some schools kids will hang out with their teachers at lunch or after school in their classrooms if the teacher allows it.I can understand that. I was talking more so about the way that teacher speaks to them and the kids tolerating her speaking to them that way; apologies for being unclear. They are too old to be spoken to like kindergarten kids, especially if this interaction will be filmed and posted, as it would only be more humiliating. Is this normal in American schools?
The weird thing is that this was recorded and posted on the internet by whom we're assuming to be the teacher. I'd assume that schools nowadays have some sort of social media policy...
