I honestly don't know if Chris really understands what kind of world he is entering into now. He's had run ins with the law before, but they always amounted to him getting a slap on the wrist. He obviously doesn't appreciate how lucky he's been in that regard. This? We're going to have to wait and see what the charges are (at the very least he'll get something for violating the court order). But if the cops found evidence of chris sexually assaulting Barb that's it, that's his life. Everything else that happens to him, every subsequent moment of his life, is going to be a consequence of what he did to his mother.

There's always been some slim, faint, hope that Chris could "get better". Null's Gofund me thing was in large part an attempt to get Chris selling drawings again. Maybe chris couldn't hold a job, but he could do that, right? He could carve out some sort of security in the wreckage he made of his life, he might not be happy but he'd be comfortable. Chris always took that for granted, but it never was. He didn't understand how insecure his life always was, and I don't think he understands how dark his future is. He no longer has control of anything that happens to him, his life belongs to the state. And the state doesn't care about him.

All he had to do was draw his comics and he could have continued living in la la imagination land playing with his imaginary friends. But now he's gonna live a life of lithium pills and the soul crushing reality of living in a psych ward for years to come. His life really is gonna come crashing down on him. Chris better hope he goes to prison because An Hero is easier to commit there than in a padded cell. He really has no clue how absolutely fucked he is.
