Well the main part of a rape kit is to swab the insides for DNA samples, and comb the pubic hair for same. Bruising on any other body parts may be documented by photography in some cases, but that's not standard. He would have had to be quite violent for obvious vaginal tearing/signs of abuse.
So, the kit itself wouldn't have "come back positive", it would have been Barb who pointed out Chris as the perpetrator.
The only positive the kit can come back with, is. DNA match.
