It has actually impact their understanding of the situation. Did the Greene County police potentially find enough evidence to charge Barb with that? Or is this one of those things, where incest is a base charge, and then rape will be charged at a later date?

My best guess is logistics; this was more than rape, but the specifics may not have an entry for "fucked his mom". Kemper was more straightforward since he decapitated her first bit still wasn't really charged with motherfucking specifically...and Ed is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that comes close. Theres extensive documentation of Chris's pitiful grasp on reality, while I agree that it's not an open and shut insanity defense I think you could still work that angle(its probably his best bet). We still don't know why he started fugging his mom, I'd imagine that will be the crux of the case.
