Unless you force the issue and do something of a legal nature, in your role as her husband, to have professionals intervene to get her committed, you will never succeed in your valiant efforts to help this poor girl who is obviously seriously afflicted with severe mental issues.

The thing is, Jack is trying to play into her delusions to take advantage of them, hoping to make her stop smoking weed long enough that she sobers up sufficiently to realize how fucked her brain has become.

I assume he thinks he can just sorta trick her into fixing herself (or at least getting lucid enough to allow him to get fixed) and then, once she's back to normal, he can just move on.
But that's not gonna happen. Even assuming he performs a miracle and she gets normal somehow, once he's out of the picture, she'll eventually default back to recreational use of the whacky tobacky and she'll recede back into her madness, so all Jack accomplishes is wasting his time, his own mental stability and money.

There is only two ways this can pan out:

1) Jack washes his hands of his crazy ex wife and moves on immediately. Whatever happens to Lizzy down the line is not his responsibility, cause it is not within his control to change it.
3) Jack takes full responsibility of his crazy (ex) wife. Permanently. He will have to tard-wrangle her for the rest of their lives together, most likely end up in a toxic relationship built around manipulating, guilt-tripping and hurting one another.

So this whole undertaking is doomed from the start, but just to add insult to injury (quite literally): This attempt to play into her delusions might make things much worse for her, since he validates her delusions, but on top of that, it could become a legal issue, if someone pushes the right angle.

There might be a third option, where he has her committed and then, once she's sobered up there, he goes his merry way. But he won't achieve that by playing into her delusions, he will have to do that against her will and fight tooth and nail to get it done.

It is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the worst things (if not outright THE worst thing) he can do to play into her delusions.
This is neither doing him nor her any good and it's the exact opposite of that people have recommended him doing.

We know Jack is serious about the woo-woo paranormal stuff just like Liz - which is fine and dandy when things are good, it's as valid as any other religion or belief system. She needs someone who'll help her find her way back to reality, not talk about some supernatural stuff she can later incorporate into her delusions.
