Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I think that a phone should better our lives in a productive way, not in a entertaining way, and as a result we have lots of trash games because hyper casuals can spend money on gachas and Candy crush.
Here's a crane game you control through an phone app, both iOS and Android. And yes, it has a plebbit community with addicts.

Are smartphones the ultimate consoomer device? I hear people talk about getting the latest and greatest phones with the fastest processors and I'm like... you're paying thousands of dollars without even the possibility of doing anything productive with it.
Kind of hard to really call a 'winner' in that, but they're up there. $400+ every year for a minimal amount of new features that are either superfluous or largely unnecessary, yet every year a horde of retards buy it purely to show it off.

There was a post on reddit a few years back where thousands of reddit bugmen admitted they have no internal monologue, and can't imagine what that might be like. Sometimes you have to start wondering.

I remember back when the NPC meme was huge, I made the NPC Memes thread here and while finding content I just couldn't believe not only all the bugmen with no inner voice, but how loud and hateful they are to those with it.

They were proud as hell to be NPCs, and declaring anyone with an inner monologue to be schizophrenic, hearing voices, off their meds, needing therapy, etc.

It was just bizarre, because it comes from this old 4chan post from 2016.

And was largely forgotten until bugmen happened upon it and saw themselves in it, saw it as an attack, and started chimping hard because they're proud NPCs with no inner voice AND HOW DARE YOU MOCK THEM!

And that's what made the meme take off. Over 2 years after the original post was made.

I'm a boomer when it comes to new phones. Didn't even know they sell for that much, damn.
Same. Don't have a smartphone and not interested in having one, so I've no idea what they cost.
I got a cheap smartphone from Tracfone. I only use it for emergency phone calls. I resisted getting one for a long time, but gave it because personal matters required me to have one.

With that said, I agree with you guys about smartphones. So many people use them for games and Internet. Worse yet, they choose to only have a smartphone and no landline phone and/or computer with Internet. Honestly, everyone I talk to or know who relies only a smartphone has their communication serverely gimped. I get why some people only have a smartphone, but I still think it's an awful decision. I think it's a stupid one too.

The bags that look like this start at around $10,000, more for exotics or non-standard colourways and can go up to the hundreds of thousands in the resale market. That pink crystal one was $65,000.

Money can't buy taste.
That's a Birkin, right? Is it sold bedazzled or was this some kind of custom job? What even are all these rhinestone things?

I really can’t understand how they can’t even remember a mental image of what an apple looks like. Like just a memory of holding an apple at some point. Jeez, they really are NPCs.

I definitely feel like we've hit a peak with smartphones but I'm sure that just means some other retarded trend is to follow soon
Smartphones haven’t had any noteworthy, useful innovations since they started having multiple cameras with fixed zoom lenses, and that was years ago now. More recent ones have been dropping features like headphone jacks and MicroSD card slots. It’s retarded, though I’m sure a lot of the push for zoomers to buy new phones is so they don’t look like poors in their mirror selfies.

Cell phones are computers designed from the absolute ground up to be planned obsolescence machines. Everything about them is designed to funnel you into buying a new one after a few years. Batteries are hard to replace, firmware updates slow your phone down, newer apps won’t work if you purposefully stay behind on your updates, and now firmware updates are forced on some Androids with locked bootloaders. Its all gotten to be a real shitshow, but that’s just how it turned out with how Apple was practically uncontested in the market for like a decade.

I went to my local game store that's been overrun by funkos the other day. Saw a big box of Star Wars funko keychains by the register for like $6 a piece. In miniature funko boxes even.

The girl working said my game purchase earned me a free one if I wanted it. I had to say no. They used to give out little buttons or some other gaming related stuff, but now it's more funkos.

It's the most absurd thing in the world to deal with. I ended up getting a promotion to upgrade to an S20 which i ended up trading back in for an A71 because of those lacking features. As I'm detailing these issues with my father, he begins the weirdest diatribe about my decision to get a phone with a headphone jack and an SD card slot like I was crazy to want music without Bluetooth lag and a phone which wasn't already half full.
