Just to play Devil’s advocate, we all now know Chris was dropping hints and clearly giggling to himself for some time about this. He wanted to tell someone. But how direct was it in any discussions prior to that horrifyingly explicit conversation in the recording? How much credence were people giving to Chris’s rather insane conversation beats? I assume the cops will be talking with Kelly and company about what they knew and when they knew it. But at no point would those conversations put them in legal jeopardy. while they're not concrete proof, there's no reason to discount them especially when the other side of the story has been nothing but lies, deflection, and sock accounts, they can easiy come drop info to discredit G and Fiona. Anytime they want. they've been here multiple times and haven't.
