Nick Rekieta already covered this. Masculine gendered (his, him, he) are also considered to apply to feminine and neutral genders as well. If you read “his” in any part of Viginian law you can substitute it with “hers” or “theirs” basically.

He isn't in full urban pound me in the ass prison, he is in jail. He is in getting smacked around like a bitch if he pisses off the wrong person jail. The people he is around are not full on murderers, they are dudes who got drunk and smacked their bitch up, did too much meth, stole too much from the local Wal-Mart, etc.

And if he actually gets convicted of serious shit, like 20 years shit, he's probably going to be segregated, too. But for the moment, he's just another sped in jail. He is probably only slightly more in danger than he would be walking down the street looking like he normally does.
