Looks like the tyrants found an "ideology" to keep people divided (woke), and a way to keep people conquered (coof). A "winning formula".
So now that the original coof is going away, they cook up a scare over a "new variant". And if this "new variant" fades out, there'll likely be more. And with each one there can always be "new cases". And if the coof somehow goes away, there could be some other bullshit disease. This "New Normal" really could be
the "New Normal" until the end of civilization as we know it, at least in more leftist places.
It'd be nice if I could be more optimistic.
I don't think the coof is ever going away, it's here to stay. Not necessarily the virus [but it probably will too] but the fearmongering over it is most definitely here to stay. When 9/11 happened, the response by most to it was: "Well this is fucking terrible but we gotta get on with life, if we don't the terrorists win!" but the government's response was "temporary measures to ensure your safety, we're wiretapping your phones for your own good, just for a while until we get the assholes who knocked this building over" and since most people like their buildings not knocked over [not getting in to who knocked them over, topic for another day] they said "yeah whatever that's okay."
And those "temporary measures" never fucking went away. In fact they intensified greatly. It's going to go the same way with the CHYNUH VIRUS too.
I think we're heading toward collapse far sooner than most might think. I'm not dooming, just being realistic, and it's not all bad: after the collapse, in whatever capacity, perhaps we can seize an opportunity to put this shit right and get the ship on course for once.
After all, if your house is going to shit and you decide you want to tear it down and build a new one, you don't leave the old foundation behind. Constructing a new house on that crumbling foundation probably wouldn't have immediate consequences, but in five years, ten years, fifteen years, that foundation is going to get worse and your new house will be sinking into it. So you bust that old foundation with jackhammers and sledges and rip it out of the Earth and haul it away. Then you pour a new one, and know that for probably fifty years or more, you're fuckin' covered, depending on who's in charge of the project.
As a result, at this point, I'm sort of with the accelerationists. Yes, what we're accelerating toward is going to suck dick, it won't be fun for anyone. But ultimately it's the only way we're going to get an opportunity for lasting change, this system is so flawed, down to the frame and foundation, that there's really no other way forward. The question is, how will people react when they're pushed that hard? When their back is against the wall? I'd like to think people haven't been broken and placated for so long that they'll just take it like a bitch. Sometimes I wonder if that's optimistic of me, but I think we'll find out soon. You're already starting to see it: people are fucking pissed. All of this annoying globohomo nonsense is one thing, Joe Sixpack just wants to grill, but this lockdown bullshit is fucking with people's livelihoods. It's fucking up life for people's children. Couple that with the woke shit and it's even fucking with their leisure time, their hobbies, their sports and their entertainment. There's still a breaking point. It's been pushed too far already but I think we're approaching it.
