Other than the secret service ties, Bella's father's history seems to be more a glorified mercenary, especially with the Panama/Iraq involvement. Iraq was like one big shitpost, and for Panama or Medellin, it was basically American assets getting thrown in to assassinate or kidnap people. It's interesting history, the kind of people who were involved in this sort of thing probably have a lot of dirt and military capabilities on their hands, but it's less clandestine CIA cloak and dagger that is scary, more opsec and janitors cleaning up any operation afterwards/being the hammer at the end of an operation, at the behest of someone else.
