Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Look Trump will never run again because the current Crisis at the border is 100% his fault, by blocking all those Climate Refugees from coming in he ensured that there would be a bum rush and overload the system because he turned the immigration system into a barrier to block everyone. He knew the dam would burst and cause a flood that would overload everything and spread covid. He should have just left it alone and allowed a steady stream to come in just like how it's been since the 60's because that ensured that no pressure would build up.

Biden's attitude is essentially "Yeah. The court said it is illegal. I know it is illegal. But courts not in session bitchessssssss!"

Which probably endears him to the Supreme Court something fierce.

Though isn't really impeachable. Especially since it's not -actually- going against a court ruling. The court, or more specifically Kavanaugh, made it clear they WOULD rule it unconstitutional, but there is no actual ruling saying it IS. The ruling let the moratorium stand until it fell normally but noted the CDC overextended its authority. This note is not legally binding though, and largely the decision was a way for the court to let the admin avoid a bad political loss while going "Alright, but don't do it again." and then assuming, normally rightfully, an admin -can't- be stupid enough to do that again.
