a popular theory is, since she legit likes chess (despite being veryyyyy bad at it, theres move by move games in the leaks via discord bot), and her love of manipulating people she treated her hobby of manipulation like a chess game, hence the chess club.

There's the Texas Tech Chess Club / Team. But I don't think it's what Isabella is talking about. Dec 31, 2018 TTU Chess Club.
On the reddit post about the chess club she (or someone) says it's the real chess club; but, it might be a student organization or something like that. Whereas the chess team are official. Really weird that the head of the team vaguely looks like a weirder version of Bella.
