Alright, so some information about this whole potential transaction fraud.

Good news: Null if he’s got access to Chris’ and Barb’s account alerts can help us narrow down the potential transactions that would be fraudulent activity, if he’s so inclined. We’ve got a rough time scale of the activity involved. Bank of America by law, must investigate the transaction if the proper request/report is filed to them by an account holder.

Bad News: Chris or Barb would have to start this and it has to be within 60 days. If it isn’t then things could get a little more complicated, and the money is for sure not going back to Chris or Barb. Theoretically if Chris isn’t declared competent then a legal representative could file it. If it’s from Barb’s account then I’m not sure who we’d get in touch with on this.

Wire fraud is the charge most likely to apply here. Sadly I don’t think the CFAA applies here, which would slap down a possible minimum five year sentence if this was extortion and another five for defrauding through unauthorized access.
