I’ve been having a lot of trouble the past few days processing that such a person really exists. I’ve been around the block and have witnessed plenty of terrible things over the years, but I can’t think of one other person I’ve come across online who so completely encapsulates what it means to be a horrorcow. It would take a lot more than a name change. Your credit history follows you past a name change. Any ween with social engineering skills can get a credit reporting account from a car dealership to pull her info. Name changes are public record so even if she picked a generic name like "Jane Roberts" it would be enough to match up with the new information.

To create a new identity you need not only a new name, you also need a new social security number, and you must FOREVER divorce yourself from your family members and acquaintances such that you never use their addresses for ANYTHING, never have interactions on social media, don't ever expect daddy to cosign on a loan, etc.

Her dad knows how to do this and it would be a lot of work, but it's not as simple as a basic name change. That's only good enough if nobody is looking. When people are looking, they will see it, and the instant it gets out it will be reposted and indexed and no SEO scrubbing can get rid of people actively fighting it.

I'm not saying it's not possible, it just requires a level of determination and discipline that I'm not sure she has.
