North Carolina makes money of off not chopping their trees down through tourism. Large sections of the state used to be clear cut and were prone to catching on fire. Rich capitalists were the ones to buy up the land, replant the trees, and donate to the government. It's better for them to preserve the forests for tourism than it is for them to chop them down.

Thank you for actually saying it, I had been wondering what it could be, none of the articles spelled it out because "nigger" is now a taboo word that may not even be used as a quotation.
One site linked to a microfilm of the offending article from almost 100 years ago and there it's mentioned as a niggerhead:

Note how the author put the word in quotation marks each time, as if to make sure sure that his readers wouldn't think an actual human head had been found. Speaks lots on the actual use of the word and how uncommon it must have been already back then.

Ooh, so close to addressing the source of the "Asian Hate" that was all the rage a few months ago. But of course, it's the Asians who are the problem. They're "traitors" for defending themselves from riots that might end up destroying their property and killing their family.

Exactly. They seem to think that just being a woman and/or minority means you can't be objectively wrong about anything. If you are objectively wrong, then you're not allowed to question them or call them out on it. For them, this is an ironically authoritarian behavior. So by this logic, or rather illogic, if a danger-haired feminist insists that the world is shaped like a cube, then we can't disagree with her. Even if she's objectively wrong, we're still not allowed to challenge her because she's a woman. That's what I take from this.

A former friend who I mentioned a long time ago in this thread once tried to justify this mansplaining and whitesplaining bullshit. He claimed "this is their moment," so it doesn't matter if they're wrong. That was the same tired excuse he always circled back to. That and laughing sort of nervously when I pointed out how stupid this -splaining shit is. He also admitted his wife shuts him down with the mansplaining bit, so perhaps there's more to his stupidity that he cared to own up to.
