So, Koinoya Mai, the girl in ProPro with a sharp model, rig, and tongue tech, who RTA'd her own career by joining BiliBili, remember? Well I wanted to see just how much it actually affected her now that the dust has settled.

From March 27 - April 28, Mai gained 110,000 subs (22K to 130K+), averaging about 20-30K subs a week. On May 13, the day of the announcement, she dropped from 153K to 147K. It took her over a month, June 23, to get back to 153K, bringing her weekly average down to less than 2K new subs a week.

Now in August, 3 months after the announcement, she sits at 163K: exactly 10K subs grown since her peak in May. All of her videos' average views have halved, with plenty of her renowned ASMR streams barely doing as well as her gaming streams used to.

I don't mind BiliBili, CN V-Tubers, or CN viewers that aren't complete tards, but we can pretty safely assume that she royally fucked herself with her decision.

These are YouTube numbers. Shouldn't you track Bilibili as well? If enough Chinese people are tuning in, it might have been worth torpedoing YouTube growth .

Her more recent gaming streams have failed to break 20K. Her Duolingo stream where she attempts to learn Chinese didn't break 12K. Whatever momentum she had from the fans trying to stick it to Taiwan has seemingly fizzled out, too.

Yeah my bad. I misread the decimals in 万 readings as 100 instead of 1000. So her Duolingo stream has 17K views.

So she's 3x bigger in terms of raw sub numbers on BiliBili to YouTube but it's not translating to views. In fact her more recent ASMR stuff is doing better on YouTube.
