Maybe they just needed time to grow on me, but I've recently gotten more into all of Nijisanji EN than when gen 1 debuted. Selena definitely helped with that though. With Starcraft and Metal Slug and recent older choices, if Selen becomes an EN version of Korone she might become my favorite vtuber. She’s been doing this for a month but still energetic and fun to listen to and knows when to show her skills and when to troll like in Minecraft. Earlier it was mentioned it wasn’t that they didn’t like Apex, they hated watching bad people play it, and Selen’s proof of that.
I can admit I probably sounded autistic myself in those prior post.Look man, we disagree and that's fine. I understood what you said and was comparing that to what goes on on the rest of the site. That's all. People come here to get information on everyone else as well. These people aren't unique.
If people posting go the other way fine. I'm not going to tell someone how to structure their post especially when it was them who went through the work.
Edit: I also fully accept I could just be crotchety and not wanting things to change.
I imagine in regards to doxing, that when it's someone you hate or even don't care about then you couldn't care less, but we're in a weird situation where this small "rabbit" hole on the farms, is mostly people that enjoy these weirdo anime streamers, and even if you don't watch someone you don't want something bad to happen to them (Not including the pieces of shit in the industry) so it creates a bit of a protective nature when a dox goes beyond interesting entry level info that gives you some idea of the person behind the avatar.
Regarding any further 'doxing' of Yuni, I would just like to say that at least on my end, I feel like I'm finished doing those big autistic effortposts about her. We now have all of the information that we would reasonably want to know, and at least to me, there isn't really a compelling reason to dive even further into her shit. At this point, I couldn't care less about what she looks like or whatever else. But of course, this is KiwiFarms, so obviously not everyone has this mentality, and that's fine; this is just how I personally feel about it.
Jesus, that formatting is really quite something. I agree with you on nearly everything, though. Not trying to argue, so I won't delve into the specifics where we may disagree. Here's my personal opinion regarding the dox debate: VTubers ≠ lolcows. The majority of VTubers we talk about here don't deserve to receive a full dox like a lolcow would, but that doesn't mean that posts containing said information should be prohibited.
The term lolcow is generally used to describe someone who can be 'milked for laughs' thanks to their eccentric qualities, with most of them being retarded & horrible people who are extremely gullible & insufferably dysfunctional. This is important, as people on this site tend to only do full doxes on people who deserve them - which, by definition, pretty much means lolcows.
The general rule is to only dox those who are directly deserving of it, and not innocent people who aren't directly affiliated with a lolcow's affairs.
If they aren't directly affiliated with a lolcow or aren't one themselves, then why bother?
Let's compare these rules to the average VTuber. Let's use Yuni/Pippa as an example here, since we've been talking about her a lot recently. Let's see:
The answer to all of these is a resounding no. In fact, she's literally the complete opposite of pretty much all of these things. The same thing goes for pretty much every VTuber we talk about here. When we watch VTubers, we don't laugh at them, we laugh with them. From what we know, they are pretty much all good people, and most of them also know what their appeal is. They are not lolcows.
- Can she be milked for laughs?
- Is she a genuinely horrible person?
- Is she a genuinely insufferable & dysfunctional retard?
- Is she extremely gullible and responds horribly to trolls?
- Does she have unironic, genuine sperg-outs constantly?
So, because of this, I personally don't really have any desire to dig past semi-entry-level information regarding chuubas. None of them fit the definition of a lolcow, and so I don't really feel like they deserve to have their phone numbers, addresses, etc. posted here for everyone to see. There's a reason it's only done for lolcows - there's a certain level of shame involved in having those kinds of details about you leaked for everyone on the Internet to see in one place.
Of course, things like old accounts, public face photos, and approximate locations are all fair game. So are stories & information that helps give insight into what the person behind the avatar is actually like. My personal boundary is just when it starts to get too specific. I don't really want/need to know what animal shelter Gura volunteered at once, for example.
As I said earlier,
If they aren't directly affiliated with a lolcow or aren't one themselves, then why bother? Most VTubers are just normal girls using an anime avatar instead of their face. A certain level of curiosity is obviously reasonable, but there's a certain limit - at least to me.
But despite all of this, I don't think that this kind of information should be completely prohibited from being posted. This site is kind of a bastion of free-speech, and limiting what information people can post here would be very stupid. I think the best solution would be if people were allowed to use the private tags for those kinds of doxposts, so that way we could protect information from the no-account lurkers.
I think @I am Jack's... also put it pretty well.
I also addressed some of this stuff the other day with this post.
But of course, this is all just my autistic opinion. Do what you want to do in your posts, I can't stop you. I just want to get my full opinion on the matter out there.
hopefully this all made sense & wasn't insane ramblings. i'm tired![]()
I was expecting a hololive version of this, now I'm dissapointed:Just gotta let it out that I can't relate that much with the recent threadposting, but I'm glad this site is back
Also, seems like Marine really is into BDSM and she wanna get smashed
the difference is that most information is about lowlcows who are speds, it's relevant as background and accountability if you wanna call it that (like proof of some antifa commie larper living in a mansion). chances of someone stalking them or other shit are pretty slim, at worst they'll get some pizzas ordered or someone might shit on their front lawn.Look man, we disagree and that's fine. I understood what you said and was comparing that to what goes on on the rest of the site. That's all. People come here to get information on everyone else as well. These people aren't unique.

I know thirstposting is frowned upon, but dat mio..... dayum. really was the best part (sorry towa). dunno if I'll be able to handle a full birthday stream...
check Marine twitter, people has "Improved" her video and she has been retweeting them since a couple of hours agoI was expecting a hololive version of this, now I'm dissapointed:
I'm just happy with my dox of a shotacon enthusiast who brought kids toys to an anime convention as part of their cosplay. Felt very comfortable posting their name, address, and workplace.People be here saying that "We shouldn't doxx" acting like they didn't come here for the doxx in the first place.
Relax kiddies, none of the information here had their addresses, or sensitive personal information (aside from a face). Compare that to places like 4ch or lolcow that dug very deep and got Gura's uncle's address.
no one's debating yes/no, but the degree of the inevitable dox.People be here saying that "We shouldn't doxx" acting like they didn't come here for the doxx in the first place.

To be fair, we tend to self-police a lot around here, and we can tell off someone when they are digging too much for someone who has effectively done nothing. Heck, we have told off people before to fuck off with the Poka dox because none of us here really care about him that much.no one's debating yes/no, but the degree of the inevitable dox.
as for most stuff you can say "not yet". for all the curiosity people have I highly doubt anyone wants something to happen or the farms involved in some shitshow that could blow back on our dear leader.
Seriously. To be honest, most of the games vtubers play I don't have much interest in so watching isn't as fun. Minecraft, Apex, gacha games, really aren't entertaining for me to watch unless it's something like a big collab. So seeing Selen play Starcraft is really awesome, same with Lia from Phase Connect playing League (even though she's a total beginner and really bad at it and I don't even play League anymore it's still fun to watch). I just hope some girls play Halo at some point. I would love to watch one of them play the original trilogy, or some Star Wars games. With Starcraft and Metal Slug and recent older choices, if Selen becomes an EN version of Korone she might become my favorite vtuber. Mori and Ame has done a collab on Halo Combat Evolve, but some permission bullshit happen and they never play it since.I just hope some girls play Halo at some point. I would love to watch one of them play the original trilogy, or some Star Wars games.
False alarm, normal happy talk stream. Very poor choice of thumbnail though.

I've been gone for a week or so, I come back to the news that Kiwi had a huge DDoS attack. Not to mention the doomposting.
I'm glad to be back, glad to see nothing's changed.
There are so many different Vtubers now, it just takes a bit of searching and you can probably find more than you can comfortably watch. Sadly I don't have much knowledge in the other groups, but even amongst Hololive you have people that play some of the popular stuff (Minecraft seems to be one of the main games they play for easy/chill content and views) with some niche stuff, or people like Botan who's recently been playing Payday 2, which was a crazy nostalgia trip and Kiara mostly plays RPG's and even had a stream of World of Warcraft, though that might end up being a once off, thanks Activision-Blizzard.Seriously. Mori isn't full blown GFE vtuber like Rushia but she still does those kinda streams to give her fanbase that parasocial experience. Do you not remember her date streams from last year? A lot of it was shitposting but there were some GFE moments. Same with her ASMR.Is anyone else creeped out by the whole ASMR thing? It seems to simulate an uncomfortable level of intimacy.
I guess it's because I think of vtubers as professional entertainers, roughly in the same category as TV show hosts. So when I see one I respect like Calli doing an ASMR stream it feels... wrong. Sort of like if Alex Trebek had a segment where he dimmed the lights and said, "Come here sweetie, let me take care of you..."
