I seriously wonder how aware Chris-chan is of the situation. He is ostensibly 'merely' High Functioning Autistic, which should for all intents and purposes mean that he's cognitively at or above average and only lacking in regards to interpersonal skills. Their ability to tell right from wrong is not impaired, and in fact they might actually be more dogmatic in regards to morality due to autism often being associated with black-white thinking. On the other hand Chris has clearly been absolutely delusional for quite longer than we imagine. Even before this dimensional merge affair, the Mailbags have made it clear that Christ to one extent or another seems to think that CWCville is real (whether he actually believed it was truly reality, or merely believed in it the way a child believs in imaginary friends is up for debate). It's possible that Chris is so upbeat about the whole situation because he is genuinely unaware of how what he did. It's possible that his High Functioning Autism is a misdiagnosis (didn't Barb and Bob refuse the follow-up recommendation of psychological treatment?), it might be possible that Chris is closer to Mid or Low functioning.
As much as I enjoyed being an observer to Christory, we cannot deny the harm caused by the trolling, which probably harmed his already shaky grasp on reality even further. I hate to go all Joker but we do really live in a society and to an extent this monster might be of our making. Not exclusively of course, but Chris is just this perfect storm of circumstance and genetics. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely pity him much more than I blame him - even though his act is objectively speaking horrible. At this point I wonder if it wouldn't be better for Chris to be institutionalized, I doubt that at this point he can function like a normal human being.
