Yeah I think the armchair psychiatry going on in this thread is kind of dumb. You can be schizophrenic and not think you’re being chased by gnomes all the time, or you can sometimes be delusional enough to think The Merge is happening and other times be lucid enough to pay the bills. I think the fact that Chris has yet to be diagnosed as a schizo is about all their is to say on the topic until if/when that changes.

i think its kinda fun to speculate and analyze him in that way, it makes sense to do it here, just for sake of discussion into the whys and hows, what was he thinking ( or not ) LOL but yes we will find out more, hopefully accurate psych . info once his evals come out : )

to be fair, some folks who are mildly retarded can drive, we had a few clients who were able to read good enough and understand directions enough to drive to certain familiar places, or with simple directions. the IQs of both ladies who drove was in the 60s, and one guy, his IQ was 58 and he actually was taught at his special school to drive since he was able to read, but these people were mentally retarded, they were lucky in a sense that they did not have additional learning disabilities such as dyslexia and the like. also : smart phones, are operated at like pro level by pre school children, and again, many of our clients, some fairly significantly impaired, were able to operate smart devices as they became more mainstream. some of them used adaptive aps and software too

I don’t doubt for a second that Chris is mildly retarded at the least. Yes he can pay his bills, drive a car and do many things normal functioning adults do.

But he also has absolutely zero future time orientation and foreseeing the consequences of his actions.

I'm not aware of if Chris has ever received psychiatric evaluation since his initial diagnosis with autism, much less recently. And I wouldn't count therapists, even if he has seen one, as they are rarely very qualified to diagnose or deal with mental illness outside of the standard normie "I'm depressed/anxious sometimes" stuff. The previous poster referenced that he did after the PVCC stuff but that was still a longass time ago and definitely prior to his major decline. It may also have been just a half-assed look into whether he presented an immediate threat, i.e. not that deep into what his future issues could be.

His mental profile certainly has changed pretty significantly over the years, that is evident just from watching/reading his behavior. They may find something much different than they did in his adolescence. The autism wouldn't have changed but he may have other disorders that have since presented themselves.

yes ! well, like i said when it comes to mild and even some higher end moderately disabled folks, some of them can learn to do many '' normal'' things, as well as achieve near to full independence if the consistency is afforded and ample time is taken to teach them, yes ! amen to that, his school work is very much immature, his writing and such he did in school was not at the upper middle and high school levels, it was quite child-like and just not intelligent ... honestly i never could see how his teachers passed him, until i learned that his parents were known to bribe and even pay off some of them to be lenient with him and pass him along . smh

My old man used to drive city buses. He would pick a bus load of retards up (actual retards not nigger types) and drop them off at a parking lot. Would tell me how he would see downeys pulling outta of the parking lot and into traffic.

yeah I might be wrong but i thought they don't use the term "high-functioning" to refer to autism in the professional medical field, it's divided into different levels and Chris DEFINITELY does not fit the 'highest-functioning' level.

yeah , those are just quick catch-all terms that do not even have a set, set of defining characteristics, oh i have often said Chris has a condition, along with the multiple mental health issues / illnesses, if you will look at his face, from childhood, teen years, on up. he looks like an FAS or FAE person, and i had heard through the years his parents were no strangers to booze, so it is very possible, and once again, a fair amount of chris's behavior, thought processes, lack of learning from experiences , poor exec. functioning, poor thought processing and organisation, poor planning skills but at the same time many of these kids can and do gain just enough functional skills, like driving, cycling, taking a bus, doing basic self care functional skills to survive on their own...in some cases they do fairly well, others, its barely head above water. so i would not be surprised in the least if hes fetal alcohol

This is 100% true. I won't powerlevel too much, but I will say that I've worked with True and Honest schizophrenics in the past. They are totally different from Chris. Chris likes to escape into imaginationland, but that's a maladaptive coping mechanism and not schizophrenia.

It's also important to remember that Chris underwent an actual psychological evaluation after he was suspended from PVCC, and there was no mention of schizophrenia. This is available on the CWCki.

I have a harder time figuring out to what degree he truly cared about Julie in that situation though, or whether he was actually more concerned about the PS3 account.

Come to think of it, yeah, I would say he is most likely to comply with insane demands if he thinks his toys/possessions are in jeopardy. Hell, that was his primary concern in front of the judge this time. Maybe if Chris's wife was actually a physical item like a pony body pillow or hentai statue we'd see him going after it.

It's kind of hard to get a good read of how far Chris is since Chris also allegedly shrugs off supposed girlfriends dying and moves on to the next with no consequence. Bluespike had told Chris that he would only give him his PSN account back if Chris stuffed the medallion up his ass. The medallion thing only happened after "Julie" revealed herself as Bluespike. So there was a very clearly defined material motive for Chris to do what Bluespike told him to do. But keep in mind, the road trip Chris took to "rescue Julie" happened before Bluespike went full edgelord teen and started abusing Chris.

Nothing about Chris makes sense: it's almost like we have been shown the Jekyll and the Hyde and people choose their favorite version.
Chris himself tried to take advantage of the misunderstanding by addressing "Christian" and "Christopher" as conveniently separated personalities at times.

We'll probably never find out how severe his neurological impairment really is.
