Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

His opinions shift with the wind. China is recognizing the Taliban. Biden will recognize them. Hes a weak demented fool. Literally. Look at the statements of the US intelligence agencies the past week...Afghanistan will last 90 days! At least 30!...maybe 72 hours.

Meanwhile 24 hours later the Taliban are releasing prisoners in Kabul. This administration looks dumber than any previous US scandal and thats what we're witnessing. It was originally 3000 troops and now its suddenly 5000? Lmfao.

Biden is about to get hit with a landslide of unpopularity because of this.

Imagine if the Taliban re-invites Al-qeeda or other groups back into the country.

What do?

Let's be fair & honest here.
The 3000 -> 5000 number, the number went up because they are including in-country forces being retasked or scheduled to leave an now not. It also includes embassy security forces. So its still 3000 state-side troops going. That hasn't increased (and likely can't increase on any quick timeframe)

Holy shit, is it over this soon already? :stress:

Called it
They're already in Kabul.

And he's authorizing it today?

Well, I guess we'll see if the Rapid Ready Brigades can still deploy in hours.

I mean, 1st Cav once deployed to a region in little more than 16 hours. But that was 20 years ago.

I don't think Kabul has 16 hours.
I hate to rain on Biden's parade (no I love it) but I don't think it has 16 minutes, to paraphrase Aliens.

There was no hope for a long term victory in Afghanistan but I'm frankly impressed at just how horrifically the Biden crew has bungled the situation. I don't know if the Taliban would've actually given Trump Peace with Honor but it probably would've been better than this instantaneous collapse at least. If Biden manages to get 5000 troops stranded in Kabul somehow it's going to be a collapse of the Soviet Union moment for America.

Imagine if the Taliban re-invites Al-qeeda or other groups back into the country.

This is unlikely to happen in the immediate future, but might transpire because of CIA fuckfuck games where they start supporting the northern alliance once the honeymoon period with the Taliban wears off.

tl;dr Taliban invited Al Quesadilla because the US was supporting the Northern Alliance. The number one guy and his cronies were also muslim expansionists, and Bin Laden was paying rent. Al Queueda was also, at the time they showed up, only interested in regieme change in Saudi Arabia. It was risk-free money that got your guys training and connects. No reason not to do it.

Then the fucking madlads went and pissed off America. The leadership couldn't just turn on bin Laden because they'd invited him. They needed an excuse. They had already effectively abandoned him once boots hit the ground; There is a reason nigga went to Pakistan.

Whats weird is i dont see that north alliance formed yet. Its traditional area where it existed has already been taken by the Taliban. So resistance needs to stiffen really hard here for this alliance to form

Yup biden is sending those men to stabilize the situation.

If airstrikes are happening, then those troops are not gonna be in and out. They are there to stop the offensive and try to re-organize the Afghan army to fight.

He must have old hawks like Lindsey Graham in his ear to do something. What a fucking mistake this is gonna be.

This could be a costly siege for us we cant maintain.

The Northern Alliance at least had Ahmad Shah Massoud to rally around. Any potential anti-Taliban coalition now has ???

It'll take a few months. Remember right now siding with the Taliban just means theie troops can move through and you aren't going to throw your lives away fighting them. Once the Taliban start trying to consolidate and reimpose their rules about no music and only being allowed to have one catamite fuckboy, then the resistance will start. This is very literally Soviet Pull Out 2.0.

Don't forget how quickly the Taliban crumbled.

Well Taliban army was only 20,000 or so troops. The front line was static for years and trenches...It wasn't a suprise when B-52s showed up the line collapsed
