Has he made any comments on what happened? and if so, how much copium is he on?

Maybe I'm being naive about this, but I think this will be harder to shovel away. I think the images are too vivid and graphic, and the wounds too deep. People in their fourties have spent over half of their lives seeing the US at war in Afghanistan. For a large portion of the voting public, it's all they've ever known.

I have otherwise apolitical family members who have been in tears over this for days. They know thousands of US friendly Afghanis are going to die. They've seen the mass of humanity at the airport.

Dark times though they are, I think this is the first thing in years that has the potential to shock people back to reality.
This isn't going to be something easily forgotten, people basically forgot about the Iraq war by the time it was over, but this is different.

I've said this before but we probably really are going to slide into full on Weimer America now, the nightmare that was the 2010s is probably just getting started and the 2020s will be the 2010s on steroids, I mean it's pretty much already been exactly that, if we could only turn back the clock to 2010 and work our way from there.

If by 'civilians' you mean 'people who collaborated with the Americans to torture and kill civilians'.. yes, you're right.
plenty of the people working had nothing to do with the ongoing corruptions. Working as a translator for America is going to be a death sentence under Taliban rule.

Everyone who seems to think there's going to be some military movement against the right or whatever you think is going on, I just want you to think about something.

Look at 20 years of Insurgency in the middle east, where you don't know who's an enemy or not. Then look at the fucking thread you're in. Now ask yourself if it's remotely possible for the government to maintain control over a territory that's what, 25x bigger than Afghanistan with a population that you turned more fanatical then they were when you started?

That's literal comedy.

It's gotten to the point where if some towelheads flattened all of NYC I'd be out dancing naked in the rain drinking champagne and blasting Steely Dan. That's how much I hate these people, I know I shouldn't but they had their chances to stop being retarded and they refused time and time again. If the world is fucked I can at least jerk off over my enemies corpse before being lined up against the wall.

Honestly, all that’s keeping things from going to shit completely and keeping the country together is we haven’t seen anyone make the step to exterminate their enemies or someone else go “I’m tired of this hellscape, I’m ready to check out. Time to see how many are going down with me”. Once that happens, I’d say all bets are off, man.

It’s either Weimar but with more useful money…or The Troubles. That’s what we’re looking at now.

I watched one of the recent Baris/Barnes streams and in one of them, he talked about a poll whose results showed 60% of participants believing we're on the way to a civil war, and a significant percentage (don't remember the number) said they would rather fight than just try to separate civilly.

Fun.
I would far rather separate civilly but that will never happen.

Tom Clancy is probably spinning in his grave, he was the king of believing the US military is some unstoppable force and the US will always prevail.

There's a hilariously dated and naïve interview with him on Charlie Rose in 2000 where he dismisses the idea that China could ever be a serious rival to the US.

If anything it's too bad he isn't still around just to imagine what he would say.
He died in 2013, pretty sure he lived long enough to see the writing on the wall.

Being a translator for the puppet regime means you were conspiring against your own people to torture and kill them. Being a traitor is pretty widely despised, brah

Taliban aren't actually 'warriors of god' like they believe and are the ultimate blasphemers. If their god loved them so much why do they live in so much sand/dirt?

Well, they’ll do what everyone other government does: use an army of reporters and collaborators. I mean, you already got people saying the Biden WH is using the likes of Twitter and Reddit and Facebook to deputize censorship, and being a hero for hating MAGA is still something that’s worth a damn in leftist circles. Why wouldn’t Biden and his crew use that to their advantage?

It’s one thing to respond to a poll. It’s another to actually go out and fight, especially when you feel you got something to lose. Look at Kyle Rittenhouse: /pol/ calls him “based” for taking out Antifa leftists, but the reality is he’s a teenager who basically had to shoot and run when three guys were in front of him and now he’s facing murder charges. It’s one thing to talk about the gasoline and even pour it. It’s another to strike and drop the match.
