US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Nah. He wouldn't have tried to pass the buck yesterday.

It's raining men.

Why does this man remind me of Lurch? Or a ghoul.

I'm terrible at these kinds of things but I figure someone was trying to run Biden ragged. Him being in Delaware for medical treatment and Camp David for a vacation probably means a "black swan" health event. (After a certain point medical doctors can only try to "balance" his treatments because of side effects, organs failing, etc.)

So Taliban sweeps aside all opposition and suddenly no one in the administration can step up to the plate to talk to the press. Psaki declared a vacation. Harris was focussed on Haiti.

So Biden gets methed up, straining his ailing body even more, delivers a speech that sounds like he's got cotton balls in his mouth and is whisked away back to his vacation. Now he is being dragged back once again.

Somebody's trying to get Biden out of the way.
Hmm, I could see it, but I just don't agree. Why now? This is the worst time to do it, if the purpose was to get him out it'd have been before now. I am more inclined to think they have realized that their Weekend at Bernie's routine has reached its limit. The country -needs- to see Biden taking command lest they lose even their own side's support. Him being run ragged is a clear consequence, but this is an act of desperation rather than intentional malice.

Seeing the 25th and calls for potato to resign gaining traction. Pretty sure people NOW understand that the lack of precedence and the lack of Constitutionality doesn't give a sloppy wet shit when you have world leaders--and now state governors standing up to this illegitimate regime.
I hate the precedence argument...the idea that we can't do something because we haven't done so before. Maybe it's time to set a bloody precedence

You have no idea how right you are, in fact, it's worse than I think most people realize. I've avoided commenting on it because I needed to see how it played out, but let me explain something I realized a couple of months back and is what got me started on my kick about Political Capital.

Pulling out on 9/11 would have been the mother of all Political Capital tsunamis. The sheer optics of it, on the twentieth anniversary, pulling out and saying its done, leaving a nominally 'stable' Afghanistan. Yah it'd fall in a few months, but that is soo far away it COULD be successfully memory-holed. The sheer -amount- of Capital it would generate would be huge, more so than even a successful election. Enough to pass any bills the administration wanted.

And so they borrowed against it.

Relying on that capital to come, they pushed for lockdowns, vaccine mandates, set up what they needed for election reform, pressed for filibuster reform, floated the idea of stacking the court. Even as crises began to mount they borrowed more from it, trusting it'd come so they delayed action on Immigration, Inflation, the New Housing Crisis.

This is why Biden's handlers were daring SCOTUS. They know it will fail, but one month was all they needed. One month, and everything could be solved. One. Month. and the paycheck would be in.

Holy shit. It's one of those 20/20 hindsight moments, where it seems so very obvious in retrospect, and you can't remember how you figured different.

S'why I was waiting to call that one. I could see it coming, but... well.

Frankly I was second-guessing myself. I floated it at work and we all jointly agreed it made total sense from a logistical point, but was -really fucking stupid- of a plan.

They -emphatically- don't want a bombing right now.

"Yes, a little while after we brought in a bunch of afghans somebody bombed something"

Horrid optics, truly horrid optics.

I wouldn't be so sure. Remember how suspiciously smooth Dubyas sailing was after 9/11, following months of low approval ratings and arguments about the legitimacy of his presidency?

Speaking of which anyone else think it's weird in retrospect how there was a big deal about the 9/11 families specifically asking Biden NOT to show up at the anniversary event?

Their supply lines are all interior, where ours certainly wouldn't be
their roads are pretty useless while the US has a very well developed european logistics network to work with, there are also enough supplies in storage in europe for the first months.
the US also can use european ammunition for most of their weapons.

People unite in a time of crisis, 9/11 was viewed as the biggest crisis to face Modern America in decades. Something to keep in mind with Bush Jr. is that while he had low opinion polls, he didn't have much hard opposition. Nor had he done anything to seriously shit the bed. So when the crisis came, people were willing to set aside their issues with him to focus on the issue at hand.

Right now, aliens could invade intent to eradicate us all and I am still not sure that we'd unite, and definitely not under Biden.

I'll defend Russia here, despite their moves in Chechnya and Crimea their army isn't as aimed towards offense or power projection as the U.S. or China. Heavy investment in Artillery and heavy guns, alongside doctrinal training, focused on holdout tactics has a strong gearing towards a highly -defensive- army. In a head-to-head battle, the U.S. wins, but that is only comparing offense to offense. Any defensive war has a lot of -strong- pros to the Russian army and I'd go so far as to say even with good leadership I'd give it a coin toss for America to win an offensive war against Russia.
their submarine force is still the only one capable of going toe to toe with the USN. unfortunately for them submarines, epesically nuclear ones are too expensive for Russia to upkeep the necessary to compete.

Wife just made an interesting comment: She thinks (and she's just spitballing here), that EVEN when potato is "on the phone," Mommy Jill is actually who they're talking to.
I mean, come on, maaaaaaan! They got Judge Judy, Dr. Phil, and Richard Simmons soundboards... maybe it isn't even a soundboard. Maybe it's something else, but I thought this was an interesting theory.

And we know potato should've been 25th before he got in anyway. Guy and his whore are 100% insubordinate and refusing to perform key aspects of their general man assignment. At every fucking employer across the US, from McDick's to Goldman Sachs, I'm pretty sure dereliction of duty and insubordination is grounds for instant termination. But we're in HONK HONK.
Voice modulator or Voice changer. One was used in a James Bond movie in the 60's. Easily done today with variety of electronics available.

Granted she would have to be good at mimicking his speech but then again, Joe ain't all there these days.

That fine. Like I said, I'm terrible at these things. I'm probably misinterpreting some crucial piece of evidence that makes me wander out of the ball park.

Afghanistan would've fell anyway. It was on the brink of revolt even during the Bush and Obama years only mitigated through persistent American intervention through violence. Us staying there, knowing full well we contributed to that downfall some years ago, only intensified that hatred. We would've never got out clean; all we could've hoped is to have some common ground between men and leave them to their own devices.

No, Biden tried to kick the dog in the worst way possible, leave any goodwill behind and THEN leave unceremoniously.
