US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

It's absolutely terrifying now how much of this administration's plan for Afghanistan is now to just hope the Taliban keeps its word. Not only that, but something just to hope that they "do the right thing."

How in the fuck can you go on television and say with a straight face "now now, we expect the TALIBAN to be inclusive and support women!"

I cannot tell you how absolutely devastating this is to someone in their 20s or 30s like me, and probably older too, that not only did these goat fuckers win, but now this fucking bullshit administration is completely at their mercy.
Not only did it win, but by making the leave an absolute disaster it ensures that months from now people will tune in to news about it. And what once was going to be an easy memory hole will now be a lingering pain.

Maybe out of your expertise, but how much do you think CNN, MSNBC, and Fox are "secretly" happy about this? Maybe Fox more than the other two?

Also, I notice I haven't heard a peep out of Fauci or Walensky in a couple of days. Coincidence?
Out of my expertise, but I can make some educated guesses.

Fox appears to have split off from the cabal, I'd wager Murdoch has been feeling burned on his support for a while, hence why Tucker was allowed to be fierier lately.

CNN is in a state of utter despair. It's beholden to three masters who all just declared war on each other. They are going to be very schizophrenic with their coverage unless one side manages to size control of them. At which point they'll be happier, but expect a lot of attacking the other two if it happens.

MSNBC will be happy. They are the furthest left of the three and largely fall on the Progressive side with a little bit of leaning on the Establishment. Biden was a necessary evil to that crowd, and they legitimately like Kamala for the most part. So anything which lets them try to pressure her into power is good by them.

The truth is the game was rigged from the start. Nothing we could do would return all the lives lost that day. We could flex, fuck, and piss all over the rest of the world except it wouldn't mean much other than us acting out at having been got. All we did was waste resources and lives over a scrap of dirt with no actual value outside of drug fields. Now we're regarded as the enemy because the retards who are obsessed with power don't understand how to use it or its nature in a democracy.

After I said the above, decided to look at the front pages, top of the fold for each of them.

Out of morbid curiosity, I looked at CNNs front page.

We have one article throwing the Afghani's under the bus, another trying to make Trump the bad guy, and the bottom right one throws Biden under the bus.

Schizophrenic.

Down in MSNBC land

Going after Biden and Kamala hard on every single story, by far the hardest they have gone after them since Biden got in office.

Three for three, nice.

You say that, but that's what people would actually want from the media, myself included.
Every article writer ideally having a well reasoned position, that may wildly differ from others at the same media company.
Media echo-chambers have damaged politics immensely.

This is just a blip on the radar though, as is the international media criticizing Biden for the first time ever.
They will run full defense and protect Uncle Joe's honor again one month from now.

Except it's not that. These aren't well reasoned, I even looked at each article. They are mad scrambling with -tenous- value at best. The one about the troops cites a single guy who barely had experience with them. The one throwing Trump under the bus has to make multiple stretches of logic to come to their conclusions. And even the one throwing Biden buswards is trash.

These aren't well reasoned, they are frantic ravings at best. There is no editorial voice here, no clear quality control. It's just wildly posting things as if a major news company were a blog.

I believe you, that's why I wrote ideally.
Almost all journalists are just trash. They are not intelligent, they don't do any research and they don't even write well.
Of course they can't write good articles, they lack the prerequisites.

I still prefer a diversity of trash opinions over an echochamber of trash opinions.

If it were diversity of opinion due to an intent to cover all sides, I'd agree. It is not that though, it's a heavily editorialized, ideologically pushing company. In the end, I would say the intent matters here. If they intended to make a diverse set of opinions, good. If they did not and are only doing so because they haven't figured out the best way to spin things yet, bad.

Fair enough.

You also have to factor in that CNN went from an echo chamber to "diverse opinions" in the span of 48 hours after being a screaming echo chamber for 5 years at least. CNN didn't suddenly decide to let all these diverse opinions happen when "their guy" was at his weakest. Something else is going on.

I honestly can't imagine someone fucking this withdrawal up moreso than what Biden's done so far. I absolutely welcome the hats and clocks and whatever else on this. What a total fuckup. Fuck Biden. Fuck Harris. Fuck them all.
We have neither hats nor clocks in A&N.

The thing is, everything you've been lead to believe about the war was a lie. The US went into Afghanistan because of Al Queda and then it just became a way for military contractors to get rich. Pretending it was a fight for the country. It wasn't. The US could use its power to push the Taliban out of Government. Create a new Government, but that Government had little to no power. It didn't really represent or run the country outside of a few cities. For most of the country, it was just life going on as usual. Where they knew little or cared not.

The Taliban would fight back, but lost every time. So they just laid low. Every now and then pushing the occupiers, but getting pushed back. No meaningful change was done to the country to push it from what it was, everything tried failed. Yet they lied to you and the world about it. Pretending it was a war they were winning. Pretended they were training a capable army. Which was mainly just Afghan's fighting for a paycheck, not because they believed in the mission of the new government, but it's a poor country and it's a job. Pretending they were succeeding at nation-building and changing the culture. Outside of those few cities, they were not.

The Taliban didn't win a war to drive the US out. The US just retreated. So the Taliban just stop laying low. No nation-building was ever done. Nothing is lost because nothing was ever real. The scene in Kabul isn't the Talban winning, it's the US and their allies just giving up. Going home. This is an embarrassing scene. It's humiliating but it's just the truth of the lie coming to the surface. Nothing meaningful ever was achieved except funnelling money to the Industrial Millitary complex.

The situation Trump and now Biden have had is ending this farce. Ending this con. I respect little about either of them, but I respect them for getting out and putting an end to this. It absolutely sucks for those people in those cities where their lives will now descend into hell but for most of the country, they won't practically notice a difference. They'll just be safer at funerals and weddings for fear of drone strikes.

The Romans occupied the Middle East for 1000 years, and they left and it was like they were never there. Besides some of the cool stuff they build. No difference here.
