Well, it's certainly ain't normal for someone to be hoarding food in their bedroom on a regular basis, along with stealing the car to get your eating fix at Taco Bell at every chance that you get.

I dunno, I see a lot of being holed up in his dorm with no friends because let's be serious... would you be friends with him? I'm not trying to be mean, I feel really badly for him, but as a young college kid, I certainly wouldn't want to baby-sit him while he whines about every minor inconvenience.

Maybe not though? With how woke everything is nowadays and the prevalence of helicopter parenting I'm sure there are enough spoiled, socially anxious neurotics and/or genderspecials around that there is potential to find a like-minded group or at least some orbiters.

This kind of follows what I said above: In my observation of people who went to Ivies, for a huge part of the student body the whole thing is far more about schmoozing than it is academics. Of course they need enough exceptionally smart people and just as important the money to allow great work to be done at their institution, but for many the value of the name and connections you make there far exceeds anything special about the education itself. The other part of it is that places with tons of name recognition and money to piss around absolutely will use it to try and prevent students (especially the ones they take interest in) from failing any way they possibly can, and student to staff ratio is low enough to do that (not to mention all kinds of bullshit "disability" accommodations and whatnot).

So getting into Harvard might mean you're really smart, but if that is true and you aren't rich and haven't got connections going in, you're probably just there to offset the dipshit legacies and diversity admissions. So I'm gonna say Jazz got in partially because troon "activist" but also seemed like an okay bet because she's from a family of lawyers/doctors and doesn't have to rely on scholarships and grants.

Normal teen boys are also often playing sports, working physical jobs, and doing active stuff with friends like going to the beach or skateboarding. Jazz was never a normal teen anything; he was a depressive sedentary homeschooled shut-in.

I don't know if there's any real expectation for Jazz to be "dainty" per se, but his obesity is now at the other extreme and needs to be curtailed if at all possible. No one outside of fat acceptance finds Jazz's outrageous weight to be healthy or acceptable on any kind of body. And his appetite is disordered if he's sitting around like a lump and using food as a destructive coping mechanism.

Correct, no commercial filming on campus. But I think this season will just be about the lead up, with Jazz leaving for Harvard as the season/series finale.

Despite Jazz is indeed a boy, he's not a normal boy either, he's close to a boy (or rather a young man) with hormone problems.

A normal boy's body asks more food because he's growing and because he's more active. And his body burns that quicker than girls (who need more fat in their bodies.)

Jazzs brain and body are probably confused as fuck because his brain tells the body to act like a male body while being bombarded with girl hormones he's not producing so also tries to act like a female body.

Moving hurts his joints, so he doesn't like to exercise or play, plus he's probably still medically fragile—despite how long it's been, the neovag is still in bad shape. The only thing he can do that feels good is to eat, so that's what he does. Think about the sort of people on my 600lb life; they're addicted to food now, but most of them started overeating because they had some sort of trauma. Ignoring everything else, the surgery itself is traumatic enough, much less the constant media attention and his mom ruining his life.

The theory that his mother is loving the weight gain seems truer every day. The jealousy between (some) mothers to their daughters, or living vicariously through them, is very real. Since she sees Jaron as her daughter that jealousy still stands, especially as he is the "golden child" with his fame. In a twisted way while this means her golden child/attention getter is becoming damaged goods, it also feels good to be prettier than your "little girl." Jaron still acts like a teenager and that rough tension between mothers and daughters as teens is still sort of at play, but has been neutered (literally) by Jazz's surgery.

Some parents get a kick out of their children failing, especially the more they fall out of their grasp. I'm sure she feels sunken cost fallacy, but she likely gets a kick out of it as well, although she'd never admit it.

His sex drive has been neutered and suppressed too so he doesn’t even have the normal sexual motivation or drive that most teens his age - male or female - do. He was going to fill that giant hole in his depressive psyche with either food or drugs. I figure after the TV attention goes away he will do food and drugs.

I was trying to think of healthy, independent hobbies that Jaron could do, and thought of my favorite: long distance running. Then I wondered: can he even run for long distances with that artificial wound between his legs or would the chafing make it disintegrate? Is he incapable of doing physical activity now for fear of aggravating it?

Physically, Jazz can't pursue many hobbies. Mentally, lots of hobbies are lost on him because he's a stunted perma-child. Emotionally, he can't hold basic conversations without A.) Freaking out or B.) Getting his way.
