Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Oh, been emailing some of my colleagues in other states. Mine doesn't have a significant afghan constiuent. Afghans follow the same voting patterns as many from the middle east (Namely, practicing ones tend towards red, but the majority who come here are basically Muslim in Name Only, MINOs from here on out).

This explains why the admin is dragging its feet for rescuing -anybody-. Most of the refugees will be practicing Muslims, and those tend to find the views of the Democrats as repellent. The admin is probably trying to figure out what sections are the MINOs they might be able to bring over and which ones are ones they can shunt off in already solid red districts to prevent them from polluting their blue areas.
We really don't have a real opposition party if importing voters has been normalized.

It doesn't work like people think it does. Only citizens can vote (Despite California's efforts) and people get more conservative as they age, and generations of immigrants get more conservative past the second/third generations. This means that importing voters only really helps if they naturalize (And those who go through that process tend to split evenly) or if they have kids (Who vote Blue for most cases of mass importation). But due to the prior mentioned factors... that's only temporary. So the importing of voters by Democrats has long been done as a way to stem the bleeding of constantly losing voters.

Even some of the secret society types believe in the mumbo-jumbo about the "Curse of Tippecanoe." Hopefully, it comes crashing down on the entire Biden administration and culminates like the Kennedy Curse. The mishandling of the Afghanistan pull-out was done partly due to egotistical arrogance and an effort to blame Orange Man. Maybe when we're old we'll know the truth of how destructivly Biden was installed as the "most popular president in history." Prevent another occurrence of senility.

A lot of different work sectors are starting to openly despise this administration more once their livelihood is being affected by policy and screw-ups. I see apolitical people voicing their displeasure.

I think the main problem leftists have is they buy into the marketing for their politics too easily. When every major corporation is parroting their views they take it as a sign that their views are just that widely accepted, when they should be taking it as a sign that their views are ones that profit and help major corporate interests.

There is a similar problem on the right, with people that accept whatever political commentators are saying as the gospel truth, but there's at least more cynicism about whether those commentators and politicians which accidentally leads them on the right path of being skeptical about their own side's politics.
That's part of it, but when I cite Machiavelli or Sun Tzu, I'm also implying consequential thinking. Liberals have serious problems with, "if we do this, then this bad consequence will happen." It's the case of every major policy they've had for the past twenty years:

-Universal Health Care & Health Insurance. They don't acknowledge that taxes become incredibly high and services get rationed. In the fast, cheap, good pyramid, they're the ones that want all three, which is impossible. When Obamacare is cited, they just deflect and say that it was inspired by Romney. While true, that doesn't change the fact that "no pre-existing conditions" works against the basic concept of risk assessment and insurance in general.
-Green New Deal. Aside from trans-oceanic trains meme, they don't acknowledge that energy has to come from somewhere and that source ALWAYS has some kind of environmental cost. They insist on Tesla charging stations, but then shut down nuclear plants, hydro-electric dams, and higher gas taxes (which is why California's gas is so expensive). At one point, Moonbeam Brown had to authorize the use of winter blend when there was a summer gas shortage. They insist on wind and solar even though windmills slaughter bird migration patterns and only work on windy days. Solar is better, but doesn't meet the massive energy demands that people need, especially when they have the air conditioning on all day. To circle back to Governor Moonbeam, it wasn't because he was some kind of gas mogul, but a consequence of reality slapping him in the face.
-Defund the police! Speaks for itself.
-Race relations. Let's keep talking about how bad the White man is for White privilege! Let's call ourselves LatinX! Critical Race Theory has set back the Civil Rights movement by obsessing over Civil Rights. Even though anyone who lived in the 80s and 90s knows that Civil Rights were settled. Black Culture alienated itself from the rest of us because they just couldn't take their win.
-Election Fraud. Whined about it for four years straight. They were given a reasonable, impartial method of preventing fraud and immediately called it racist. Even though Voter ID absolutely would have prevented "Russian Interference." Then commit the largest election fraud in history for themselves to elect Biden.
-Eviction Moratorium & Government Lockdowns. What do you mean I have to pay the piper? I deserve to live in this place that I rent every month! Print more money to fix the economy. Inflation isn't a big deal!

Who was that CCP shill that said that Left-wing Americans want total freedom, including consequences and that they would have been gulaged for their non-conformist faggotry? Because Clown-world came about because of Leftists refusing reasonable discussion that what they were asking for was unreasonable or even impossible. They refused to compromise and create possible alternatives. All because they don't want to deal with the consequences of their actions.

The twin follies. Tunnel vision on what they consider to be the solution to the exclusion of all others, and an insistent that issues with it can be solved 'later' and thus don't need to be considered now.

Though let me defend the black community a bit. They didn't fail to take their win, they were sabotaged. The African-American community was on track to fully integrate despite the way they were joined to the American whole. They made up a strong backbone of a booming industry and had created tight-knit communities eager to reach out to those around them. The problem is that the industry was the manufacturing one. Cars, goods, steelworks, etc. They were excellent workers, with strong work ethics, that foreman boasted of having. And it got -gutted-, just destroyed. And those tight-knit communities with three generations of workers all fell with them.

So where does the sabotage come in? Right after. The race grifters whispered in their ears that it was the white man's fault, the Democrats saw an opportunity and created welfare programs that actively hurt them to try to get out of them, the very idea of fatherhood was discouraged by these programs because it -hurt them to have fathers-. They were slowly broken apart as communities, a rot like nothing else, that left them isolated, reliant on welfare, and increasingly angry at a situation that -had not been their fault-.

The modern African American community mostly stays as they are because of themselves, but they were not the ones to push themselves to this spot.

Hypothesis: this shit pull out of Afghan was a deliberate clusterfuck so the artillery and vehicles left behind could flow upstream to China so they can replicate all the tech we left in the region so they'd have stronger weapons to fight the U.S.
I think you're vastly overestimating just how competent Chinese military manufacturers are. They'll break them, put them back together, fire one shell that breaks it a little, and call it a success.

I just can't. Every calculation is about how our political parties can stay in power and never about what is good for America and Americans. "We need to help them because we gave our word, and our word matters" is a moral argument you could make! But they don't even bother trying to put a sweet patriotic veneer on their shit, it's just cold politics.

The bald bomber did not make the front page of my paper. #FalseFlag was trending on Twitter, and people were joking that right after it started trending, he surrendered.

If he's really a vet and really unbalanced, I'd say most people would forgive him. It's just another sign of how little the leaders care about vets, which feeds further into the Afghanistan fuckup.

The Parliament videos are interesting. Biden depleted FOREIGN capital too somehow. So he can't even cajole us into joining another climate change agreement, fingers crossed. Although currently his admin is just punishing an abused populace because it's the easiest way to ego-soothe.

Oh, @Gehenna how in the know are you about Virginia polls for the governor's race? Is it irredeemably blue, or do you think the California recall and it have the same potential momentum?

Virginia is well outside my knowledge base. I am part of a firm that works out of Wisconsin with Wisconsin officials.

Edit: cause it's come up enough, I just want to be clear. The only place I have raw data on is Wisconsin. Everything I say else wise is using publically available info and me just applying my degree and experience to it. Sadly, I am not omniscient. So while I can give my opinions and analysis of what you all have, I am very careful to keep it within my realm of knowledge and expertise.

Unlike lolcows, I want to keep in mind I DON'T know everything and can very much be wrong or misread something. I am human, it's good to keep that in mind.

Thread's moving too fast so apologies if this has been suggested before, but a friendly, neighborhood lurker @Osbone1536 made a great point earlier. If Trump had any balls, he'd offer to pay the $2,000 loan the State Department has been making people trapped in Afghanistan take to get out.

As he put it:
2020: "Who built the cages, Joe?"
2024: "Who paid for extractions, Joe?"

Haven't laughed this hard at a happening in a long time, the depths of US incompetence truly know no bounds. I hope people in this thread realise the perception of America and its culture outside NA was never all that great. You're lauded for your vitality, passion and work ethic, but not much else. The sad part is that you burgers wouldn't need to care about literal whos perception if your influence didn't stretch so far. At this point, I can only feel sorry for anyone living in burgerland, you have my condolences. Your culture is the problem, not your leaders. Elect who you want, the cathedral needs nothing short of demolition.

Such a clear-cut example why America makes for a poor Leader of the Free World is great, if only your cultural exports could be questioned in the same way.

Name one country that's less shit than the US.
We're all kinds of fucked up, but at least we're not anywhere else.

What were they saying back in November "finally we have a leader back who is respected on the World stage..."

Other countries had respect for the US when Trump was POTUS. Sure, the elites hated him, but who cares about those guys? The general public in most countries loved Trump.

Our country’s problem is purely in our Federal and more populous State leadership. Due to urban centers being where the votes are, our politics are skewed towards people that live in a bubble. Every modern country has this issue and unlike the US, those countries don't have the State/Federal separation to protect at least some protection from the more idiotic ideas of their governments.

Also, any person whose country‘s government that can’t uphold the 1st Amendment yet talks down to America can, in the grander scheme of things, take the bronze medal and be happy with it. Sure, we have the “muh private company” BS going on right now, but that is literally fixed by constructing a building and putting servers into it. Payment processors? Building with servers backed by some credit unions. There, I just solved the big tech problem.

Why no one does it is simple: Conservatives refused to get on the tech train until it was too late. They are playing catch-up so right now nothing can be done, but years from now someone is gonna have a competitor, we’re in the ”shitty company is the only decent company” phase of social media right now. Give it more time, and the usual nooks that society makes for itself will eventually be made. The early internet did the same thing before, it will do it again. Forcing it to stay homogeneous in the US is too expensive now, even China had to make the “Great Firewall” early or not at all and like all things Made In China, it falls apart in places.

I was wondering how this could get worse for Sleepy Joe, and I realized -- what if a recording of him saying the N-word was released? I know people fantasized about it existing in the past, but it would be HILARIOUS right now (think Trudeau costume but more amazing). Honestly though, him getting a stroke/heart attach and becoming invalid is the worst thing that could happen right now (but might be best for him in terms of legacy tbh). Man, it has to suck that dying is the best outcome to save your legacy right now (if only Joe was worth feeling sorry for).
I doubt they would care. The media would do the damage control like they did with Hunter.

Grossly over simplifying. The infrastructure is the biggest issue. Service providers can not only shape how the internet flows, but who is allowed to use them and traverse them. It always flows up to the same 5 companies that are beholden to the banks.

The problem is even before VP, everyone hated her. She was only placed there for equality's sake and to keep the squad at bay. As you may tell a lot of the Dems moves were to prune the squad's influence. Pelosi hates them and she has a lot of influence on the group however she cannot fully meddle. Honestly, I hate the bitch but she is the sanest one.

However, even when the game is essentially rigged they still fuck up and what is worse, they joked about "think of where we would be with 3 months of Trump." Well look at it fucking now 6 months in and Inflation is at 5%, China is eyeing up Taiwan. The Pacific nations are furious, the brits are furious because they have to deal with Afghan refugees too when they are massive border issues.

3 years and 6 months of this shit left oh and Covid, he propped up so highly is at a pretty decent high.

I just watched the Pentagon's Press Secretary and he looks like there's a gun to his head. He denied that the Taliban have told them to stay on the airport.

I bet you the Taliban are already holding 500+ US Citizen hostages and have told them they'll not disclose that they're holding hostages as long as Biden does as he's told. That means the $5 billion in US dollars already at that bank, the UN seat, recognition as the rightful leaders, no attempting to scuttle equipment or buildings, and they get the fuck out of town on time this time. Here is the interview:

I'll never be a fan of folks screaming to the sky, but good on her for calling out ol' Sleeping Joey.
REEEEE YOU SAID ORANGE MAN BAD BUT YOU'RE MAN WHO BAD BIDEN REEEEEEEE SCREECH SCREECH

Did the cut drama in schools or something? These motherfuckers needed to be flushed into stage productions to burn this shit off before they hit real life.

Some tin foil hattery to lighten the mood:

The Afghan debacle is the western world teaching America/Dems/whomever involved, a lesson about rigging elections. Trump was laughed at internally (the world doesn't give a fuck what happens inside another country, drama wise) but was respected externally and the western leaders knew Biden was going to make all their hard work go up in flames, or make everything harder for them (germany and russia as an example). The world leaders are pissed that Trump (or someone equally competent) is no longer at the wheel because of blatant election rigging.

So this is the world stage having a laugh and throwing the establishment/Uniparty in to the mud. As if to say "you can take the piss a little bit, we all do, but being so bloody blatant jeopardises all of us, here's your punishment"

At Kandahar, there were a lot of nations there, not just Yanks or Brits, but loads and loads of Common-wealth and European - including Eastern European, countries. Who has people left behind enemy lines? The yanks. It isn't a coincidence.

Biden is to the Uniparty, what Season 8 was to Game of Thrones; a fuck-up so spectacular that it retro-actively ruins the show. Obama's legacy looks worse now than it did under Trump...imagine that :story:

This is a patently stupid take because :

1) You're assuming the Chinese haven't found other ways to replicate our military hardware (be it through intellectual theft or buying military hardware through some kind of black market).
2) The Chinese would find any use of whatever vehicle and artillery piece we left behind (this would only have been the case had we left any stealth aircraft or bomber there which we wouldn't have done).
