Talichads move on from defeating the United States to defeating the deadly polio virus. Currently there are almost no wild polio cases in the world and all are in Pashto regions in Afghanistan and Pakistan. There's no glowie vaccination "doctors" (like the ones who found Osama bin Laden) active in Afghanistan.

This was one of Bill Gates's pet projects (and honestly he did a nice job funding it over the years) and it will be hilarious if and when the Taliban are the ones to annihilate polio.

Last I heard the official stance, mentioned by "lets Circle back" Psaki, was that there are no Americans trapped in Afghanistan. In fact, she apparently snapped at a reporter for even asking about it yesterday?

I suspect they're hoping to just do as much of an evac as they can without taking any risks (to themselves) and then any mention of people left behind they'll hope the media will turn into a right wing conspiracy. I.e., we just won't talk about those Taliban and ISIS videos of them beheading people. The only catch being apparently a lot of the people left behind are DC Yuppie spawn trying to suck money out of the region + journalists.

yes, except that decision to take Daud out was made in Moscow, not by local commies who were merely pawns in the game between Moscow-Washington. This is the age old problem of smaller states torn between two conflicting superpowers waging proxy wars, as result the local assholes will be torn by both no matter what and during the cold war this same shit played out over and over.

I'm still having trouble seeing how different tribes in that region consider themselves one nation. They do not. It's everyone around them project this notion of statehood onto savages who don't recognize any borders other than those of their tribes.

Good chart of some of the shit we left there. Personally the big concerning one for is that HEDP Mk 19 ammo. 60k is a lot and one ammocan can fuck shit up well it its aimed well.

How are they going to do it? Shoot any viruses they see? Pray it away? If they intend to do it with vaccinations they're still going to have to accept non-Taliban doctors as they don't really have many in their ranks. The asset used to get Bin Laden's DNA was a Pakistani recruited by the CIA (and was, in fact, a real doctor, he did the spying as his better-paying side hustle).

I'd assume they hope to use whatever vaccines they can get and whatever doctors and nurses are available since the WHO (I know) seems optimistic about it. The CIA spying shit has long been the biggest obstacle in Pashto lands and with the US gone the Taliban can gain another propaganda victory and Pakistan's glowies can do their own job.

What I'm saying is that there's nothing stopping the US from turning one as an asset just like they turned the Pakistani doctor. The ISI were *pissed* when they found out about the doctor and he's been languishing in Paki jails ever since. They want to trade him for Dr. Al Qaedaette that we have in our jail (who they swear up and down we are lying about even though she left a jihadi paper trail a light year long to the point that she's almost a lolcow) The US wasn't going to send Dr Bob Obvious Glowie from the US to skulk around Pakistan. They intentionally bought off a good local Muslim doctor, respected by the local bad guys, to do the job.
