Because in the past, CNN and MSNBC would just not report anything the Dems did badly, and then when people heard about it on Fox News it would be considered a right-wing conspiracy. Perfect example: there is not a single article on cnn.com about the Wi Spa incident and many other publications where their only article is that it is clearly a "right wing hoax."

I had a close friend, who barely if ever actually follow politics, ask me last week with a straight face when Cuomo resigned "why is it that Republican leaders get less criticism for their mistakes than Democrats?"
It took me a couple of days to figure it out, but I think I did. When you have the MSM constantly screaming at you about how Republicans are evil, you start to wonder why they aren't forced to quit and resign when they are clearly evil. There are people that genuinely wonder why it is that Governor Abbott and Governor DeSantis haven't been forced to resign yet for killing kids. So when you are constantly told that Republicans are evil, yet they are still in power, it looks like they aren't being punished for being evil. Whereas Governor Cuomo was everyone's darling, "made one mistake", and now has to resign. In fact when Cuomo resign, Matt Gaetz started trending on Twitter because he hasn't been forced to resign yet.
So TL;DR, parts of the general public wonder why are Abbott and DeSantis are allowed to kill children and not get punished for it?

At the time of the Lewinsky affair I had no other sources of news and had the impression that the case was solely about a consensual affair and took the view that whatever it may say about Bill's character, it wasn't really a commentary on his qualities as president and not a court matter. It's only looking back as an adult that I find it was actually about a sexual assault case and Lewinksy was a witness. It wasn't about him sleeping with her but about him lying about the nature of his relationship to a witness. That changed my view on things a lot and it's frightening how many people still have the view on the case that I did at the time.
