OnlyFans suspends policy change after backlash

OnlyFans has announced that it will delay making changes to policy on content creation, following a widespread backlash by its users.

The content subscription service announced plans last week to block sexually explicit photos and videos from October.

On Wednesday, it tweeted that it has "suspended the planned 1 October policy change".

It is currently unclear if the delay will be permanent.

OnlyFans wrote on twitter that it would "continue to provide a home for all creators".

"Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard," said the company.

"We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned 1 October policy change.

"OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators."

The company added that it will be emailing content creators with further information shortly.

One OnlyFans creator from London, welcomed the announcement from the platform.

However, he warned that it may not be enough to entice those who have already found new homes for their content to return.

"So it's short-term good news for sex workers reliant on the platform, and I would like to see this as the start of increased support, celebration and championing of sex worker rights by OnlyFans," he told the BBC.

"But I think there may well have been enough anxiety caused to see many models continuing the move to other platforms."

OnlyFans makes its money by taking 20% of all payments made to its content creators.

The platform reported a 75% increase in new creators in May last year - when the world was stuck at home during lockdown.

The seeds have been planted though. Can try again after a while.
I agree with that other guy, both the decision to ban it and the decision to pull out on that in like a week, is based on money. Onlyfans only outgrew shit like patreon because it was an easy way to be an e-girl I think, and they can pull a tumblr and say "Weve outgrown that and will continue to" but I bet they were getting jabbed hard with the "Yeah but look what happened to Tumblr when they did that dipshit, we told you when you were first boasting about how its a great independent platform that can stand on its own against others and grow and create a new market" and they went running to payment processors or whatever.

Ultimately theyll make some do-nothing grand stand of: "Were going to work harder to include both sex workers AND wholesome content, and diligently work to make sure that minors are safe and moms can rest easy" and blah blah blah. I think at least. But its going to be that typical youtube tier "You cant use youtube unless youre at least 13, when is your birthday? Oh April 1st, are you SUUURE youre 28 PoopsockTosser53?"

Its like Twitch trying to lock down on twitch thots, then immediately going "Wait wait, sorry we just looked at the numbers, we'll just include a hot tub thot category"

Banks backed down i wonder if its because somebody told them that they want them to focus on people against globalism and not simp making machines that can keep young weak and liberal, afterall you dont sell to china with strong people. I really hope they get what they deserve as China disposes of them because traitor will betray again.

If this means that even the smallest blow has been struck against credit card companies being the morality police, good.

But this is Clown World, so I assume it doesn't mean that.
Its the point that brain dead left policy & lack of morales can't lose in clown world.

OnlyFans Drops Planned Porn Ban, Will Continue to Allow Sexually Explicit Content

OnlyFans

OnlyFans dropped plans to ban pornography from its service, less than a week after the U.K. content-creator subscription site had announced the change citing the need to comply with policies of banking partners.
On Wednesday, the company said it “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community,” suggesting that it has new agreements with banks to pay OnlyFans’ content creators, including those who share sexually explicit material.
“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change,” the company said in a tweet.
“OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators,” the company said.

An OnlyFans spokesperson declined to say which bank or banks it has new or renewed payment-processing agreements with. “The proposed Oct. 1, 2021 changes are no longer required due to banking partners’ assurances that OnlyFans can support all genres of creators,” the rep said.

So was this all much ado about nothing?
OnlyFans may have been able to resolve its conflict with banks, some of which had refused to do business with the site, by going public with the issue — and publicizing the large amount of money that flows through the site, on the order of $300 million in payouts per month.
OnlyFans founder and CEO Tim Stokely put the blame for the porn ban on banks in an interview with the Financial Times published Aug. 24, saying that banks including JP Morgan Chase, Bank of New York Mellon and the U.K.’s Metro Bank had cut off OnlyFans’ ability to pay creators.
The furious backlash among OnlyFans creators also certainly pushed the company to quickly resolve the problem. OnlyFans’ decision to ban porn had infuriated sex workers who have relied on the site to support themselves. In frustration, some adult creators had already nixed their OnlyFans pages and moved to alternate platforms.
Founded in 2016, the site claims to have more than 130 million registered users and over 2 million creators.
While OnlyFans grew to popularity largely based on its porn-friendly policy, the company has been looking to reach wider audiences. For example, this month it officially launched OFTV, a streaming app that excludes sexually explicit content, in part to obtain distribution on platforms that disallow porn. OFTV is available on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon’s Fire TV, Android TV and Samsung Smart TVs.
OnlyFans has been able to attract some celebrities to its platform, with some of most popular OnlyFans accounts including Bhad Bhabie, Cardi B, Jordyn Woods, Bella Thorne, Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, Rubi Rose and Tana Mongeau.

Onlyfans is dead anyway. Ethier, they try the ban again and lose most of their market but have the banks, or continue on the same path until most banks cut them off, meaning they can no longer do business.

Whatever path happens will be funny. Also, the fact banks will work with terrorists but not porn companies are pretty funny.

But in fact, they still lose, because they're still whores. And the "fans" still lose because they're coomers. I don't know which one is worse.
Pretty much why I'm happy OnlyFans is still going to have e-thots and coomers. Its more laughs and drama for us as idiots give up all their life savings to some dumb bimbos who will never fuck them. Its like an addiction; they have no one to blame but themselves for their own gullibility and inability to coom to regular free internet porn.

Only issue now is they will have to fight the UK & child protection & sofia law about CP & bestiality.
But at least they can make money.

I assume they did a 180 on this because of the sheer number of coomers cancelling all their accounts. At that point even threats from the banks weren't scary enough to make them stay course.
All just what will let them stay afloat as long as they can.

Weren't Onlyfans only fans only banning stuff like incest and bestiality in the first place?

"Suspends", so I'm fully expecting them to try this again or do it on the sly when they are ready to handle the backlash and exodus.

I don't understand. Why porn is "inclusive"?
That's the real question here, boys.
"So it's short-term good news for sex workers reliant on the platform, and I would like to see this as the start of increased support, celebration and championing of sex worker rights by OnlyFans," he told the BBC.
Wait, there's a syndicate of sex workers in Onlyfans? The fucking what?
