Saints Row thread

I remember when the seventh generation of consoles came around, games were "more serious" and drab with little deviation. Saints Row 2 was meant to be an inverse of IV's serious tone.

The issues with games isn't being serious or quirky, there's just no complexity with their tone. There's no depth. The trend now is politicized writing to cater to an audience with short attention spans.
Thats a good point, for what it was i do remember 3 and 4 having this sort of fast paced snarky dialogue, but shit was dialogue, a conversation. Not too mention they did come up with a few badass lines every now and then.

Shame that fight was QTE.

Anyways, everything i heard in this trailer was Discord tier quirky zoomer babble

"-Oh no he shot in him in the face lol
-How disrespectful lol
-Anyways what are we getting for dinner lol
-How about my famous chili con carne lmao"

Fucking disgrace

No personality. That's what I'm getting at. So far, I see no personality with these characters. At best, I'm reminded of characters from 3. I'm reminded of other titles with this reboot.

Just what I wanted. Another game where you play as obnoxious college kids.
Which makes me increasingly worried about a Bully sequel or reboot. Would they take the college kids approach seriously or sanitize it with satire? I play games to have experiences I would not normally have in the real world.

My opinion- I personally think that an expanded universe-type spin-off focusing on a Saints franchise in a new location, is better than a complete reboot.

That being said, the series had already long been flanderized beyond parody, and a softer reboot may have been necessary.

cant wait to see the cringe compilations from the new one's shitty zoomer humor

But Idol Ninja was a real fucking tragedy, not only did he try to power through despite being fucked by cancer, but the overall lack of support and dead silence from anyone official after that will probably doom the fuck outta the fixes unless they just release at their "70% or so" state

I miss the gangsta shit and pseudo blacksplotation that mafia or inner city settings had in the 2000s, seeing it replaced by sanitized paint by number's zoomer (although lets face it this will be bought by more soy millenials) pandering is kinda tiring

Every video I looked at had almost double dislikes than likes a couple hours ago, and now suddenly there is an uptick to overtake the dislikes.

Edit: Watched that tweet video. She sounds nervous as fuck and then starts talking about diversity.

WTF? Saints Row was the OG game when it came to diversity. To the point I remember there being complaints over how diverse the gang was when SR1 first came out.
