They're supposed to be quiet and go into hiding and hopefully a miracle will happen. But above all else, they must NOT embarrass the very-serious-people at the state department that have kept us in this clusterfuck for 20 years, including BidenHarris. That would be a sin against the uniparty, and honestly, their lives aren't worth the embarrassment that doing something like asking Egypt or the UK to head up the evac mission with US support would cause the very-serious-people.
Don't worry, I'm sure the Taliban or ISIS won't do something uncouth like film people being killed or arrested after the 31st to remind the world that we left 30,000+ people over there and ended upe vaccing way more muslims than Americans. Comparing modern Judaism where even the most closed off Orthodox people have some access to mass media/news thanks to Haredi magazines to Jews at the time of the Holocaust is insane. As pointed out before, how could Jews living in tiny Russian villages whose interactions with the outside world was essentially going to the city to sell crops a few times a year hold anyone in the Weimar republic accountable? Mass media/communication didn't exist in rural areas back then and even if they did, why would a Weimar elite listen to some country bumpkin telling him to stop it?
Also, the Orthodox speak out quite regularly about their internal issues and while there's no chief leaders in America, each area has a certain rabbi that's considered to be the leader of the area. Meanwhile in Israel there's the Ashkenazi/Sephardic chief rabbis who quite often call out secular Jews for perverting things. The reason you never hear about them is because the people who run the mass media are the secular Jews being called out and they get away with not platforming criticism because no one knows it exists. The orthodox have started to move past this barrier with the kiruv outreach movements and creating accessible religious websites. This is scaring the secular Jews and in response they are hitting back through the same mass media. Just look at Netflix, they produce plenty of content that is hateful towards Orthodox Jews like Unorthodox and My Unorthodox Life. Both feature women who have been caught out lying about their experiences and the latter documents an ex orthodox woman with some sort of NPD gaslighting and vocally abusing her son who wants to stay religious. With the secular mass media both simply refusing to report on what the Orthodox are saying plus portraying them as backwards oppressors of women en masse, who wants to listen to what the Orthodox say other than themselves?

We're going to have to have some airplane be the last plane to take off at some point. Odds are that they're making it known to be in theater as a warning that the Taliban had better not fuck with it. I doubt very much that they'll bomb the airport. Def not before (it's their only way out of there) and afterwards without provocation would just look like being a dick.
But, then again, if they were to park it on the airport tarmac and 'forget to lock it' before leaving it... at this point, I don't think I'd be too surprised.

My guess is that it's strategic positioning to ward off a threat they haven't told us about. Even with all the freebies they left the Taliban I can't imagine any of it was enough that would warrant a stealth bomber. Maybe they have received credible Intel that some larger entity might try and stir up some shit (Syria, Iran etc) during the evacuations and they want a show of force in place that everyone knows doesn't give a flying shit about mobile SAMs and defensive radar capability.

That would be the best season finale for this. No 2 years + 1 day for Kamala, Joe strokes out and leaves her with her ungodly negative approval rating.
