Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

there isnt a single person who has lived in the west that would voluntarily want to live under Islamic Rule

Not one

there are assloads of people, not just pedigree goatfuckers, lots of normies convert and join the path of goatfuckery, even women. Perception is not reality and ISIS recruiting vids are deceptive for men, for women, I have no idea why you'd want to don a bag over knowing in advance how little rights you'll have.

I was alse puzzled a lot by some Americans converting to Orthodox (i.e. byzantine branches) it makes little sense unless you grew up in that culture, but here we are.

Also if that runway is cratered it is game over for any transport aircraft. There is only one runway under our control.
C-17 and C-130 can do dirt runway landings and takeoffs. Its not ideal but it is possible. I would expect that the evacuations are going to be scuttled and its just yanking the gear from this point onward, particularly since ISKP seems to be launching rocket attacks at the airport. This is the literal doomsday scenario for the evacuations and I fully suspect the Pentagon is telling Biden in no uncertain terms its over.

I’ll be honest and say I think this is a good thing all things considered. We were just scooping every random Afghan showed up and not even trying to rescue our people. What’s the point in continuing besides getting the left more voters?

Taliban Twitter is hinting that the US is clamping down and shipping off journalists.
Not to be a conspiracy theorist but now the Taliban are claiming the US opened fire on some of the civilians in their section of the airport. The Taliban Twitter is far from an unbiased source but they paint a lot more believable story than our state department has been.

The Spook-sponsored 'JV Team' just happened to show up to do a heckin' big t*rrorism on the airport right when Biden's handlers are vacillating between begging the Taliban for a time extension vs. 'if you're not out by Aug. 31, then you're fucked.' It smells very Pearl Harbor-y (allowed to happen) to me.

I don't know if this is going to be cooked up as casus belli for more 'peacekeeping' in Afghanistan, or if Sleepy Joe is just going shrug it off, or what.

I'm still kinda sad knowing that Jamsheed got killed in an ambush while working with US forces. :(

We had a dude like that during our rotation. Didn't know his name, just called him RPG, and that was about the height of his knowledge of English. Dude was legit insane and would be one of the first to run in to mosques or cache points. Also had an INTENSE love for the movie Pitch Perfect.

If somebody told me 20 years ago that a time would come that the Taliban was more trustworthy and credible than my own government I would have laughed my ass off.

My money in unironically on ISIS. only because their ruthlessness in which we saw them spread years ago so quickly. They absolutely have a bigger appeal than Taliban to Islamists
Yeah but not for Afghans. foreign islamists are way less useful in afghanistan than in other areas, they dont know the language and they are not well liked by the indian paschtuns or the persian tadschiks.

You dont need a runway at all for "smaller" transport aircraft, the A400M can land on a field and disembark a couple of tiny tanks.

And now there's been a third suicide bomb at the airport.

At this point it's obvious the civvies remaining on the ground in Kabul are fucked, no matter what country they ostensibly belonged to.

So the question I now have is:

How many soldiers are we going to leave behind?

It's questionable whether the attacks have been bombs or rockets, but rockets fired onto the runway or at outgoing planes could easily result in the largest loss of American soldier lives since I don't know when. Any military spergs want to chime in with when the last time is that 200, 1000, 4000 US soldiers were killed in a single day?
