It will depend on what ISIS does. They're trying to throw a wrench in the spanner for the evacuation as much as possible so the US misses the deadline. Assuming they can make the US miss the deadline, and the Taliban is unwilling to negotiate, those soldiers are fucked. They're horribly outnumbered, assuming they can even get CAS, it won't be all that effective since the fighting will be close enough that CAS would have to worry about friendly fire. Also, as discussed earlier, the Taliban captured a lot of MK-19s and plenty of ammunition for them. Those could easily suppress the guard positions there, which would allow the Taliban to overrun the airfeild. Likewise, given how disorderly things are, I'd be amazed if the Taliban didn't slip a few people into the evacuees in order to have eyes on the inside. At least there's no way I wouldn't do this if I were in their shoes.
