If this this was an intentional glowie op to continue the forever war, they fucked up. Nobody is buying it, and they are in danger of losing everything. Which will likely force them to start shit domestically in 2 weeks. My gut tells me the fuck up was intentional with the airbase, but ended up too successful. The CIA assumed the administration was more competent to handle and cover up the mess then it actually was.

My opinion has long been that this was a fuckup. I do think letting ISIS out of the base was intentional, but they weren't expecting it to be done so fast or for the ISIS guys to be able to make a plan and rearm so fast. Everything was meant for a slower timetable, not the "new event every day" that's going on.
