General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Guys, what's the opposite of a numberfag?

has anyone figured out kronii's previous identity/roommate identity?

I absolutely love her. Didn't like her design during the first reveal (FGO artist tiddy bait), but her voice and smug/slight sassy personality carried her hard. I'd love to see how well she did in her previous streaming/vtuber venture before joining homolive.

It may have started scary but the end result is fantastic and realistic.
Sir, post the entire masterpiece next time.

It's in the thread scattered about. Check for "Seru Kisen"

Dumbshit numberfag news nobody cares about, Kuzuha's pretty much set to hit 1 million subs this week (roughly 4-6 days as he's pretty consistently getting 2k subs per day), becoming both the first Nijisanji Liver and seemingly the first male Vtuber to do so; overall an arguably major accomplishment.

This milestone is kinda giving me a thunk about how could NijiEN (or possibly Holostars EN?) guys do within a Western audience. While there haven't really been (m)any noteworthy male Vtubers in the West, a notable case a friend informed me about is KamiyaJuu (I'll let others do the honors on the potential jokes), who seems to be doing fairly well for himself. You could argue part of it is that he's a Filipino, but it still shows that male Vtubers can work outside of Japan, they just need a push in the algorithm that something like Nijisanji or even Holostars absolutely could offer (or they could completely fuck it up like how Nijisanji fucked up with IN, but time will tell). I'd even argue the West has similar variables that could be triggered, ex. we absolutely do have cancerous fujoshi children and subhumans for the standard bottom of a fandom barrel, they're just called stans around these parts.
I've seen a few anons on /vt/ speculate/hope that NijiEN's male wave would bring about a renaissance for Male vtubing in the same vein that HoloMyth's debuts sort of did for the EN vtubing scene.
so NIJISANJI ID about to hold this kind of thing. is this a new thing in NIJI? can't find one by googling?
for Nijisanji I believe its a new thing, for Anycolor, no. I believe Anycolor or some subsidiary company under them has a VR Hostess club. Ange did a stream on it.
Aruran wasn't the only one who got a 3D stream recently. Behold, Nijisanji's brainlet!
God I love watching Furen, her retard aura drains my brain kind of like Nene or Aqua does and its fucking great.
Yes, yes we know you like Niji more no need for more discussion on this.
Is there honestly anything wrong with having debuts being short? I quite like the Nijisanji EN approach to having their debuts be 30minutes. Less time for cringe without the kino. And if the vtuber wants to further establish hashtags/fan nicknames or answer questions and talk to chat she can either do a guerilla stream doing that or do what Hololive talents have been doing too which is having the next day's stream be Debut 2.0 or part 2 or something to do that.
Fauna bullying children. She's been using terms that typically regular MOBA players say. She might have some experience.
At the start of the stream she said that she used to play Dota 2.
Holy fuck we have an EN Dota 2 player. But judging by her main hero (Witch Doctor) I assume she plays wardbitch Position 5 support rather than something cool/streamer friendly like a mid core or offlane.

I've noticed that of the smaller agencies outside of Tsunderia, Prism Project seems to have some incredible growth considering their agency started like earlier this year, though I hardly see much mention of them here outside of a few instances and Shiki notably.
I know Yura has the same illustrator as Coco and I've given her a few watches and I've overall liked her, I don't tune into her streams much but she's nice. Whenever I occasionally visit the /vt/ threads for discussions I would see a fair bit of Nia and some Shiki along with Luto (warning: Aussie Kusogaki) the latter two I definitely remember getting posted here a few times.
Fauna is really growing on me. Never expected Dota 2 to be one of her most played games ever. Her Spore stream was really blursed too

As a former Dota 2 player. it is really hard for it to not be the most played game on a steam profile because most regular matches are at fucking least 40 minutes at the minimum. I've had some matches go on for nearly two and a half fucking hours. Game is hard.
As someone who used to play a shit tonne of Dota 2 and dabbled in a few other mobas. What they probably mean is the way is she playing and her playstyle is because she has experience in mobas and once you understand the mechanics of one, you can pick other mobas much quicker.
I agree with this here, Dota 2 is probably the most mechanically demanding MOBA still kicking and going from Dota 2 to something more akin to a very casual Hero Brawler means she's probably a bit more mechanically skilled compared to whoever she's matched with. Also the toxic mentions with MOBA players is just an inherent trait, espeically in Dota 2. I can not only shittalk my own team and my enemy team in voice/text chat but Valve occasionally gives us further tools like voice clips that can be bound to a wheel that I can just spam a few times to tilt the enemy team lmao. Best shit ever is spamming the crying baby sound when my teammate is fucking raging in voice and it shuts them the fuck up half the time.

As far as I know, membership prices and tiers/perks are set by the channel. But it's possible something could have changed in Youtube's conversion to whatever your local currency is.

It seems like $5 is settled as the "standard" for a VTuber membership, but it's possible to be higher or lower, and it surprises me that more indies/small corpos haven't been experimenting to see if there's something more optimal for them.
Before Beatani jumped the shark (for me at least), she had a $2 tier but made fun of people for joining that as opposed to the normal $5 tier. It was a good system that I guess would only work for kusogaki archetypes lol.

Also, shout out to actual angel Tokino Sora, who didn't have Youtube membership for the longest time because she didn't want to double-charge her fans on both Nico and Youtube. People wanted the green name in chat though (IIRC), so she eventually opened membership at $3/mo with no higher tiers.
I liked the idea Beatani went for with the low price "emote-baby" tier for people that just want to chat and spam emotes and then the actual $5 tier being the actual membership. I would go into debt and probably purchase more memberships if they had a $1 tier to just support the talent and for emote usage. Sort of related to the Sora mention; I also believe Tsukino Mito still doesn't have a membership option to this day because she doesn't want to preferentially treat members being "above" her other chatters. That and probably to prevent her rabid Otaku NEET shitter fans from further bankrupting themselves.

I don't think it's a burnout with the industry as a whole, as I'm still excited for Wave 3. It's just something about how Council were rolled out through weeks of lore vids and then a 7/8 hour relay that I guess really exhausted me, so I haven't felt the desire to follow up on them.
Yeah I know that feel, I havent watched much of EN2 because of burnout, I cant possible keep with more vtubers at this point, so I'm sticking to my favourites plus a few small/indies.

Yes, yes we know you like Niji more no need for more discussion on this.
I dont think this has something to do with tribalism tbh, burnout is a very real thing and they released IRyS way too close to EN2 so the hype (at least for me) was already drained.

Burnout really isn't the right term for that, more like your not interested enough to bother watching, because if you really did have a Vtuber burnout you'll most likely distance yourself from watching any of them because you feel demotivated but in this case you just want to watch what you're interested in, which is the right way to go about it tbh.

Doesn't help that Cover put out so much lore before actually revealing EN2. I'd really like to have EN3's release to be much simpler, but feel free to call me :optimistic:.

question, how much are you guys willing to share regarding membership content in here. not like just the VoD itself, but like what's the limit you want to share with the non-member one?

I usually share Ina's doodles
and keeping what their are talking about on casual chat for yourself?

actually planning to join membership just now to put as background noise and just maybe learn 1-2 things just besides gaming as a streamer, like Takodachi said, whatever you call it Burnout or something else, i can't keep it up again with watch an actual stream. but still manage just to listen to what they talking about.

Should there be a limit? I mean we already "break the rules" all the time by talking about roommates and past accounts.

I'd understand people who pay for that stuff not liking others getting it for free, but if it's out there and it's relevant then I'm not going to restrain myself from talking about it or sharing pics/clips.

Depend on if it contribute to the discussion or not. If it's something that give more insight to their situation or performance, I might share it. If it's fluff or upcoming project that will release it the near future, I might say "yo, big one coming." If it's them being candid and vulnerable to their most dedicated fans, I won't share it here where lurker can see it. I get Kiwi stance on free flow of information, but well, that's my personal choice.

yeah true, that's what am worried about, i think there some more insight or performance would be great to share as a discussion but again, the lurker here in this thread alone are insane. but oh well try once for a month and see how it goes

In my case, though, I didn't say either of those things.

I was contemplating why I had no desire to watch the Council specifically; and concluded that it must have had something to do with how they were rolled out, because I didn't feel that way about Gen5, HoloMyth, or NijiEN, nor do I continue to feel that way about Wave 3 (which we know are coming, but the same could apply to Gen6) UNLESS they reveal them in a similar way. I feel that is a symptom of burnout specifically with how thick they laid it on with announcing HoloCouncil, and not a problem with V-Tubers as a whole.

I'm only speaking for myself here, of course. It's not a lack of interest, it's the feeling that I've already known them for months because of how rough the ball-tickling lore vids and 10-hour relay + lore collab felt. It's not a Tribalist thing, it's a 'I think they did too much this time' thing.

As long as it's interesting, I guess? We don't need to archive them talking about mundane shit, but if someone has a MenHera chat stream or whatever then that's pretty fair game to talk about.
