You know what I am actually incredibly glad that Jim finally mustered up the energy to do a stream, considering his current circumstances. I've had people incredibly close to my in my life suffer with cancer and autoimmune disorders. I will have to say it is fucking awful and I'm glad he finally felt comfortable enough to share with his audience his expierence with the whole ordeal over the last couple of years. In all reality, the whole world went bonkers, right at the same time as that type of issue popped up for him. So I couldn't imagine the level of stress, despite how I disagree with the coof dooming, at least he has the ability to stand by his initial stance.

I enjoyed his seintment on the current situation because at the end of the day, laughter is really all we have in this perpetual clown tent we all have been encased with in. I'm glad at least he is getting some form for peace with his current disposition. Some form of a podcast would honestly be pretty nice to hear, because all things considered the live streaming genre is just infested with bullshit in the current moment.

For whatever reason, COVID-19 has become synonymous with "General Fatalities" due to a fuckload of propaganda, highlighting it as a "natural event" rather than an easily-preventable disease. The speed at which the disease has spread is due to immigration - exclusively so, with all variants coming down to the same end. This isn't something which was unavoidable or just happened - with modern medical treatment, there is no reason why a disease like this should spread so quickly. The person you replied to is correct that the healthcare system in the US is stretched too thin, though. One of the big things constantly paraded around "what do you want to do when you grow up" talks is about how understaffed medical professionals are, and this understaffing is expected to exponentially get worse if we don't suddenly get a mass influx of healthcare professionals. I've also seen the understaffing first hand; my facility was basically at half-staff all of the time and it was incredibly dangerous for our residents and workers alike. Certain things are only supposed to be done with 2 people and typically this is anything to do with death fats, hoyer lifts (they're basically human cranes), and "challenging" patients. The hoyer lifts were particularly prone to tipping, especially for death fats. There is a reason why I quit and changed career paths. That and it was a job that was putting me into an alcoholism death spiral.

I personally think it is horrifying that people are being fired for refusing the jab. This will only increase the understaffing problem, lowering how many patients can be cared for, and overall lower the quality of care that the current patients get. It also seems incredibly hypocritical when there are actual anti-vaxxer RNs that refuse to vaccinate for Hep B or even HPV. Your mileage may vary, but my facility did have RNs who would sign off on records and give you a jab full of saline. Reporting incidents like this are difficult when your "proof" is basically word of mouth and you vs like 5 other people who will cover for the offending nurse. Why are we not firing those people? Why are we not firing RNs that skip gloves or hand washing? Why is the coof being taken more seriously than giving people staph infection or a nurse potentially being a carrier for shitty diseases that no one wants?

Cannot comment on hospital fullness, but in my city they're trying to hold that over people's heads. It is like this threat of, "if you don't tow the line, back inside you go." A couple of colleges around me are requiring proof of jab vaccination to attend in-person classes next semester. It changes nothing for me because I got the jab, but I just can't bring myself to care about the outrage and constant developments anymore. I got it just so we could collectively just go back to normal but it changes nothing because variant ligma balls infects you anyway.
