What no one ever mentions, isn't just the girl power moment, is these super heroes, with their super moves and powers fighting along side thousands of regular people. Well they broke their places along the front line to have this girl power moment. Who knows how many normal people died just so they could have this moment. How many of those people got rushed since there was no super being on the line holding back the brunt of the attack. How many of those people aren't getting snapped back to existence?

Even in a pretend world, some women just can't do their jobs.

Iirc, the sexual abuse of little boys doesn't have the direct support of the Quran like the abuse of little girls does, but it tends to be culturally engrained in a lot of Islamic societies in the form of pederasty. Because a consensual and loving relationship between two men of the same age is worthy of torture and death, but a grown man raping a little boy is a-ok apparently.

Afghanistan and Pakistan in particular are rather well known for their practice of bacha bazi, where young boys dress up in revealing outfits and dance for grown men, and then afterwards are pimped out to their audience. If they try to escape, they're usually raped and/or murdered. Sex slavery doesn't tend to discriminate in Islam, but after the boys hit a certain age (usually around eighteen) they're discarded like trash and left to fend for themselves while dealing with a shit load of trauma and mental issues while the girls are stuck in it for life.

That whole business about white Americans needing an identity ... Funny thing was, we had one. American. The 90s pop culture was full of this stuff. Every race, every creed -- if you lived here and believed in America, you were American. Eddie Valentine the mafioso from The Rocketeer: "I may not make an honest buck, but I'm 100% American, and I don't work for no two-bit Nazi." "Independence Day" was as American as a screaming eagle with a cheeseburger and an M-16 -- especially compared to what we're getting nowadays.

But pop culture and the ivory tower don't like the idea of being American any more. It's been depreciated as an identity. America Bad because Slavery (which we fought to end) and Racism (which we also fought to end) and Nazis (which we ... there's a pattern here) and Indians (who fought each other long before we ever turned up). If people are clinging to other symbols now, it's because the one that united us has been declared verboten.

No wonder we're all so divided. The one thing we have in common is the one thing we're not supposed to be.

I've said it before, but the reason the whole "girls save the universe" thing that got shoe horned into End Game annoys people is because in the comics it's a woman who causes the snap to occur in the first place.

Thanos is a simp who wants to impress the embodiment of death, a woman.
