Dobson, the word you're looking for is "infamy".
No, he thinks you need to accept everything he says as fact and to never question him. Unless you're Wu, than he'll do anything for your attention.
Well, in Dobson's mind, it's a clear hierarchy. People who wanna be someone's friend have to be their buttmonkey in an asymmetrical relationship.
So in order to be his "friend" you have to lap up every single one of his words, whereas he wants to be Johnwu's "friend" and thus has to lap up everything he does. One side enjoys to have the upper hand while the other one is forced to be a mere subordinate.
Obviously, that's not how it goes. Let's hear it from Griffith, world reknown for being the best friend one could ask for. Ever:
You do make a good point on how the closest thing to "mature" stuff Dobson is exposed to are cartoons made for children, but still have certain themes and other content to keep adults interested. I don't think Dobson has ever shown any kind of interest in purely "adult" stuff (Game of Thrones for example), and this along his obsession with the DIC cartoons really reinforces the fact that Dobson has the mindset of a child. He parrots his betters without any understanding of what they say in a futile attempt at sounding mature, and his inability to take constructive criticism gives the impression of a spoiled child that wants everything to go his way, no matter what anyone (or rather, everyone) tells him. And this guy is in his 30s.
Well, as already mentioned, he's read Lord of the Rings, but outside of that? Harry Potter and the Hobbit are more akin to fairy tales afaik... I have no clue if he's ever read, watched or listened to something that was made for adults.
Mind you, enjoying stuff made for kids isn't an issue for me -at worst it's a guilty pleasure and everyone has to got one of those!- but to have 90% of the media you consume end up being stuff like SU, LoK or even less mature stuff like MLP just means you're fucked, man.
Part of the reason why Dobshit will never amount to anything as a storyteller.
He couldn't write a good plot to safe his life, that much we know. The reason? He's got bearely (heh) any experience with media beyond his autistically narrow horizon.
