What do you mean “turned into”?What that shower scene even necessary? This has turned into a hilariously trashy telenovela for all the wrong reasons.
I meant Gou and Sotsu. I was fine with the original series. What do you mean “turned into”?

I hate to say it, but it was a trashy show back then too. We just didn’t have bad answer arcs.I meant Gou and Sotsu. I was fine with the original series.
Satoko's ass is bigger than her torso, holy fuck. What that shower scene even necessary? This has turned into a hilariously trashy telenovela for all the wrong reasons.
Yeah, that was such a lovely shot of loli buttcrack in the shower when it was previously missing in Gou. Thanks, Ryukishi, you fuck. He has quite the affinity for Satoko in particular, apparently. She actually has the only nude sprite in the series in the original Japanese sound novel that was censored for international release (and probably also in subsequent re-releases in Japan). What that shower scene even necessary? This has turned into a hilariously trashy telenovela for all the wrong reasons.
So if it's really like that and it's totally non-canon, then okay, but at the same time, I don't know how I feel about making canonical meta jokes about fan fiction. I know there have been creators out there who made their own fan fictions of their characters for the lulz, but it's still weird.I've been taking this series as Featherine's shitty fanfic this whole time tbqh.
Let me remind you that Higurashi's final (main) chapter introduced a new tier of villain so that its main villain would look less responsible for trying to genocide an entire village, while also never bothering to address the new actual villain because I guess it was out of the story's scope. Was Ryukishi ever even good

Thought I forgot to bring up something about Matsuribayashi. But then again, I forget that "Tokyo" was the mastermind behind it all simply because the person running "Tokyo" (I keep thinking her name's Nina for some reason when I know that's wrong) has no character to her other than "Lol I lied".Let me remind you that Higurashi's final (main) chapter introduced a new tier of villain so that its main villain would look less responsible for trying to genocide an entire village
Oh yeah I forgot about Nomura. I think they give some more backstory with Tokyo in the manga but yeah. Iirc it was all a plot to turn the syndrome into a bioweapon instead of pursuing nukes? But yeah it wasn't handled well and in the anime Nomura shows up once. I don't recall if the VN is as bad as the anime with Tokyo.Let me remind you that Higurashi's final (main) chapter introduced a new tier of villain so that its main villain would look less responsible for trying to genocide an entire village, while also never bothering to address the new actual villain because I guess it was out of the story's scope.
Ryukishi has never not been a complete hack.
Nomura and Tokyo come up in episode 24 of Gou, though obviously it doesn't go into great depth on either of them.Thought I forgot to bring up something about Matsuribayashi. So it's interesting there's no mention of "Tokyo" to be had here, if only because the show doesn't want to remember Takano.
Researching potential military applications was one of the stated purposes of the whole research project, and led to the development of H170/H173, but in reality nobody really cared about it, and it was only Koizumi's massive influence within Tokyo that allowed Takano's research into the Hinamizawa Syndrome to happen. After his passing, its members immediately started defunding the Irie Institute and mocking Hifumi's brain parasite theories, which led to them ordering the destruction of all samples of H173 and the destruction of all evidence it ever existed (as it was just a huge potential scandal), and shifted the focus of the Institute entirely towards the cure and the complete eradication of the syndrome in three years, upon which the research would be buried completely.Oh yeah I forgot about Nomura. I look forward to your recaps more than the actual show. Good job, sir.[I can't quote your recap post or @ you for some reason]
>nowHe's bragging about being a fucking pervert now.
I'm pretty sure that was the initial pitch made to Ryukishi, but he wanted to provide an experience that would be fresh to both new and old viewers, and came up with a hybrid remake/sequel that ending up being the worst of both worlds. Why couldn't they have just done a remake like Fruits Basket or Shaman King?
