The chinks aren't going to go in to Afghanistan and offer the same ultimatum as the Russians or Yanks, that been "We're here, we're in charge, get used to it". America doesn't have the ability to create what China does, for the cost of what China does it for. The chinks can flood the western and middle-eastern markets with their ever-improving western knock-offs, at a fraction of the cost that the west can.
Apple, Amazon, Nike, Disney, Adidas and all of the stores that stock their shite wares, from official shops to 3rd party ones, would all take a hit. The choices would be to either take a hit on profit (lolololololololol, no) or raise prices (inflation wuuuut). Apple would have to charge around 2-2.5x higher (depending on labour costs in the states) to get the same profit margin. Apple has a cult and would probably get away with it. The rest? Not a chance.
Then compound that with smaller businesses who rely on cheapo chink shit to keep their business going. From stationery to cutlery, it's all cheaper in China. How many Homegrown American stores would be forced to raise prices or shut down, if their expenditure increased by 25%?
