The thing I don’t get is that if these were antibiotics, none of these people (well, ok, very few of these people) would look at the bottle of penicillin and go “0.5oz twice a day for 2 weeks? Fuck it, why not just drink it all right now and get better immediately!” because they KNOW that doesn’t work because implicitly they still trust doctors.
Yet they’ll eat enough deworming agent for a 500 lb horse over 2 days to try to kill it faster. And whether or not that’s a fake post or not, there’s enough legitimate evidence of people doing exactly that and ending up in the ICU.

This confuses me so much, all the “how dare you tell me to get vaccinated when you’re the fatty?” memes when we have all seen pictures of what Trump rallies look like. Or the “let the unhealthy die, I don’t have to worry!” attitude when they’re unhealthy as fuck.
I think one issue is that if everyone else around you is somewhat fat, you stop thinking of that level of fatness as being “fat” and only think it applies to the extremely morbidly obese. A lot of Americans with BMIs of 30 or 35 or so just think of themselves as carrying around a few extra pounds, and don’t realize that they’re the exact type who are choking to death in hospitals.

Oh it's actually supposed to be a treatment for HIV... it has literally nothing to do with what Mr. Melville wrote, aside from being related to AIDS and Fauci being a collaborator.
Or linking studies that simply don't say what they think they say, all while maligning science and academia. But we all know full well that if a big medical journal even hinted at something that "vindicated" their gibberish they'd be plastering it all over the place. Case in point:
You don't even have to know very much to realize the study doesn't match the headline. Also even for those doing peer review regularly and read studies everyday it's easy to miss stuff, there's enough science journalists who have done honest reporting mistakes because you should take it easy with reading fucking peer reviewed studies. They're full of data, technical information, dense and boring as fuck to read in one sitting. Plus, they can be wrong or bad, not that a political pundit would notice or care anyway.
I think medical academia can be very crappy, pozzed even, but do retards don't realize they're also part of the problem every time they politicize a topic, study or researcher? Every time they amplify the voice of a supposed "brave rouge academic" whose paper simply wasn't well received for whatever reason at a point in time? I dunno.
