The Democrats seem hell bent on pissing off the Supremes as much as possible for no gain at all. They don't have the numbers to impeach or pack the court, so they have zero leverage at all. It's boggling why they'd write threatening letters, do that dumb eviction moratorium shit after being told not to, and now they want to make a committee to publicly scold the court for not ruling in their favor on a motion they had no obligation to accept in the first place.

Nobody has a bigger legal or in general god complex than the lifetime appointees to the Supreme Court. Nobody holds grudges like they do, either, and not even Roberts can redirect the shitstorm that this will eventually produce.

The left know that they lost their chance to swing the court to the left for a generation, that the conservative majority is only going to get larger as more liberal judges pass away over the coming decades, and the fact that they can't even rely on Roberts being a quisling due to the fact that the conservative judges now have a solid majority where they don't need to bother getting Roberts on their side combined with Kavanaugh and Barrett knowing that they fucked up not coming to Trump's aid and that the left wants them and Gorsuch gone and the lengths they went to try and derail Kavanaugh only a prelude to the beyond the pale crap they'll pull to oust the three if and when they think they can get away with it.

I hate how they can't even assign blame correctly. The Supreme Court literally did nothing, the Texan legislature did. It's like they think the job of the Supreme Court is to intervene any time a red state does something they don't like. They are completely incapable of thinking below the national level.

It's because when RBG was pretty obviously going to kick the bucket soon the Democrats and Mass Media started to speak about the Supreme Court like they were literal deities with the ability to rewrite the constitution at will. They wanted to scare their base into ousting Trump's appointee because the Court has a great deal of power, and they were going to lose their majority stranglehold on it. It's why we got the absolute meme of a trial they put on for Kavanaugh.

They're pissed off that their toy got taken away so they're throwing a temper tantrum.

Hollow threats do nothing but make the Court even more defensive, protective of their power, and less willing to offer easy treatment. In fact, it could backfire spectacularly when the Dems start their legal campaigns to fuck over the midterms.

They might find a much more active and aggressive Court just waiting to skullfuck them come the mid terms.
